[Sheena's been splitting her time between staying at the house Lloyd built and the Castle ever since she had learned she can change even the size of her room to accommodate the animals she's also keeping an eye on.

This morning, she's in the Castle tending to those animals when she hears a soft thud against her door. Curious, she opens the door and at first glance, thinks she sees the familiar shape of Duke's Minicoid rolling away and then towards her.

Stooping down, she realizes her mistake and can't quite help a rather startled exclamation echoing through the hallway.]

An egg? What the hell is an egg doing knocking on my door?

[What else would you call rolling into her door repeatedly?]

Uh-oh.

[Having spotted something attached to the egg, she pulls out her journal.]

[Private to Duke]

Duke, this is Sheena. Ummm...there's an egg outside my room with a note to both of us on it. I think you might want to check it out.

[Then to the Castle-at-large]

Is anyone else finding strange eggs addressed to them in weird places? I have a pretty good idea where it's from, I'm just wondering if there are others.

[ He sounds half asleep. He keeps odd hours sometimes, okay? ]

[ Although he pauses after that. ]

... Or would it be easier to find me?

[She lets out one of those "I give up" chuckles before she answers.]

[Actually, she has a good idea, but refrains from saying it.]

Uhhh, I guess I could. I'm in 312, not too far from you, but I really don't want to risk rolling this thing around and it getting damaged.

[Just wait until he hears why she's not saying she'll carry it.]

... Is there an odd texture to it, so it cannot be carried easily?

[ When he thinks eggs, they come in "a few to a hand" to "one per arm" size.

But she can probably hear him opening and shutting his room door, and trying to figure out which direction 312 is in. ]

Uh, not exactly. It's just really big--about the same size as a dog--and I don't want to roll it because I don't want to break it.

[She stops when she hears a door open and close in the direction of his room, and looking up, she puts her formidable voice power to good use.]

Duke? Over here.

[Don't worry, she'll keep talking to guide him.]

[ Ah, that way. Duke heads over, and has a thoughtful frown on his face. ]

I don't know what type would produce an egg that large...

[The talking is really nothing more than muttering as Sheena tries to figure this out and she stops when Duke comes up.]

Neither do I. I don't even think those Chocobos lay eggs this big.

..... although...

[ Duke stops near her, and stops talking around the same time. Crouching and gently trying to find the egg with a hand now. ]

... then again, I never asked...

[Sheena helps him find the egg with a soft drumming on the shell.]

Well, think about it. How could they carry an egg this size? There'd be no room for anything else in there!

Don't think I interacted with one of those.

[ Duke's eyebrows go up as he finds and runs his hands over the egg. ]

Egg is this large, contents... when grown, possibly quite large...

You haven't? They're a big yellow bird that you can ride. Cloud used to ride one, and he called it "Bitey".

[Come to think of it, she hasn't seen either Cloud or the Chocobo for a while. She's going to have to do some checking.]

Yeah, it's a pretty big egg. [She runs her hands over the shell lightly, coming close to Duke's but not touching.]

You don't suppose it's possible it's already full grown, do you?
