Rather what it sounds like. I can control fire. Perhaps a better translation is that "Talent" is akin to magic in most other languages, but the "magic" in my world is divided into the elements. I happen to be gifted with fire magic.

Does everyone where you come from have such talents?

Not everyone, but many. It is not so common as to be mundane, but not so uncommon as to be extraordinary when it appears. The level of power available to each individual is different as well.
