I swear this castle can take us from the Havens to Hell. Why couldn't we keep the babies and forego the rampaging wild animals and quicksand?
(Not to mention the mosquitoes. What the hell?)
I'll likely never get my falcon out of her cage. Not that I can blame her. I want to hide too.
(Private to Van.)
How's marriage suiting you, Ashke? I hope it isn't too wild.

We really should have a baby. The castle was right about that.
(Winkwinknudgenudge. Come on, Van. It's fun to make kids! Who cares if they're both men?)

(Ah dreams.)
Besides we have enough to contend with without adding a child to the mix.
Re: private;
True enough. Maybe one day, in the future. We have more than enough years left to us before we embark on that part of the journey.

Re: private;
I do not think I would have, if I was not friends with them, and I understood their need and desire for a child. I was... honored that they trusted me so, and counted me friend enough to ask.

Re: private;
You never did fully explain to me what happened then, to... turn you off so.
