He'd had similar questions when Thorin had left, but had tried to ask the Castle itself rather than asking the people in it.

But really, how much effort does it take to notice a nameplate missing from a door?

There's no way to know for sure. We can only hope it's the case, for the ones that have a home to return to.

Wishful thinking. It's all wishful thinking. I have yet to see something that makes me positive it's true.

A rare few have. And there's no way to know if their memories of home are real. I've seen this place alter memories before. Make people think they were new people. What is adding to someone's memories?

Just consider me a skeptic. if you want to believe in that.
