005 :: Action :: Clinic
[After yesterday, Ukitake became a little concerned that his fever might be a bit higher than he thought. When he had looked out the window, he found the entire world upside down. Well, something certainly hadn't been right. Good thing he chose to stay in bed, then.
Sleep, however, did not come easy when he was hacking up a lung.
It's early morning when he enters the clinic, hoping to find it empty. He opens the door and muffles a few coughs into a handkerchief. Seeing no one in the immediate area, he starts looking for where the medicines were kept.
Usually he drank a mixture that he put in with his tea. Surely they would have something similar...]
Senri
Senri, my name is Ukitake. I usually come to see you ever morning, but today I could not make it. You are in a place called Paradisa, and you have a journal which you can talk into and ask people questions if you need to. Downstairs there is a kitchen were you can get some food.
[pause to cough.]
Your room number is 703. At the end of the day please remember to go back to your room to sleep. Ask for directions if you need it. Please be careful today.
Abel,
[The handwriting seems a bit shaky.]
I was wondering if I could ask you for a favor. There is aboy young man named Senri. I spoke of him once before.
He has some sort of amnesia or memory problem. Each day he does not remember where he is, so I try to remind him of the castle, the journal, where the kitchen is, and so forth.
Please check to see if he is in his room in the morning. Room 703. If he is there, I would appreciate it if you could stop by for the next few mornings and go over the basics with him quickly. It's important you show him his room number and tell him to come back to it at night.
I'm fi I guess I owe you two cakes, now.
[ooc: Ukitake is trying to be a sneaky sneak. You know that means you have to bother him...]

Can I help you?
no subject
Oh, er... [cough.]...just looking for something.
[He's a bit sweaty and generally ill looking.]
no subject
Why don't you take a seat and I'll see what I can do for you. [ He points to the exam room and proceeds to put on his doctor's coat. ]
l-lol.
...All right. There's not much to be done, though...
:3
Why do you say that? [ He puts his medical chart down and turns his attention on the man. ]
How long have you been sick for?
no subject
Er... Since childhood, you could say. It comes and goes.

Is everything okay?
[Obviously not, and Carson is already taking out his medical scanner.]
no subject
...Er... yes, nothing I can't-[cough] handle.
[By himself. Stubborn man.]

[He can tell sick when he sees it. He's been at this too long. That, and he's still getting used to being human again.]
You do know that drugs have to be signed out by a member of the Clinic Staff? To prevent abuse.
no subject
No, I didn't.
[Perhaps he should have walked up to the church instead, where Abel had a stock of his usual, but it was so many floors up...]

If you tell me what's wrong, I can prescribe something.
[He's not a difficult man. He does want to help, really.]
I'm Dr. Beckett.
no subject
Ah... yes, I suppose... [He hesitates, then has to cough into his handkerchief again.]
...I guess that answers that question for you. It's worse at night, so I haven't had much sleep.
[ooc: I have no idea what the scanner can do, since I don't know your canon. Feel free to pick up on fever and something that looks a bit tubercular. :|b ]

My... what? I...Oh. I'm looking for medicine.
no subject
Your temperature is elevated. Your lung function is down to 67%. Seek medical attention.
no subject
I don't need medical attention. I just need rest... and something for my cough...
[Digs around further in a drawer.]
no subject
The human body will collapse from insufficient breathing and rising temperatures.
[Beep.]
You are endangering yourself and others.
no subject
Believe me, I won't collapse just yet.
[Nothing in that drawer, how about this cabinet...]
I'll leave as soon as I find what I'm looking for.

Hey! Do you know where they keep the gauze? Or any sort of wrap?
no subject
I'm sorry, I don't...
[When he turns to look at her he sees the cut and frowns.]
Oh dear, what happened?
[He's changed gears, and looking for bandages and disinfectant now.]
no subject
[She sounds a little embarrassed, a rag held against the cut. It looks worse than it is - clearly superficial, and it'll likely heal quickly. She shakes her head, as if telling him to continue on with what he was looking for.]
It's a long story. I can find it!
how to worry daddy captain 101...
[Ignoring that look - the cut was something that had to be taken care of right away. His hand shakes as he hands her a roll of gauze to start with.]
You should wash that, first. It could get infected.
SOB clearly ;;
[She takes the gauze from him, masking a slight, reflexive frown at the way his hands shake.]
But.. hey, look, I'm all taken care of now. What were you looking for?
