So yeah I heard you was teaching first aid and I wonder if you could teach me? I only did some stuff in school so I don't know a lot. Also I spoke with Simon about possibly helping out at the clinic.[End.]


[With that message sent away Aaron too Clyde outside for a walk and to play some fetch. He can be found outside of the castle together with his German Shepard. Be aware though as Clyde isn't leashed. The guard dog may bark at you but other than that it's a kind dog.]

[Later on after he had fed and walked Clyde he made his way to the clinic. Once there he stepped in and looked around. He didn't see anyone and he had no idea how Dr. Keller looked like.]

Dr. Keller? [He shouted out and looked around the place.]

[A pink creature came out of the back room, waving a hand at the newcomer and gesturing for him to follow. She was all smiles, and a nametag around her neck read "Marie".]

Blissey.

[Aaron does stare at the creature as it appears. He hesitantly follows it to the back room. He hadn't seen anything quite like it before. It didn't seem human but at least it was friendly.]

[Jennifer was waiting in one of the exam rooms as Marie brought her newest assistant in.]

Hey- I'm Dr. Keller, and this is Marie. [Marie made a happy sound as Jennifer softly patted her head and thanked her.] I usually send her out to greet people first thing... since if you're in the clinic, you'll see her a lot. She's very kind and makes a great nurse.

[Aaron nodded slowly and looked between Marie and Dr. Keller. Somehow he had expected a man, not a woman. But it didn't matter all that much really.]

Okay. I'm Aaron. [Glances at Marie] I have never seen anything like that before. But yeah if you say she makes a great nurse then I believe you.

So, I'm here to help out and learn some first aid. Need something to do and I got some experience as I took care of my paralysed boyfriend back home.

I hadn't either, til I came here- I inherited her from my friend Carson, actually. Apparently she came from another world, just like the rest of us did.

[She then straightened up.]

Simon mentioned that you wanted to learn, yes. I'll take you on a tour of the clinic first- do you have any experience aside from that?

We had CPR classes in school. I skivved those tho. What I did for Jackson was mostly helping him drink, eat, massaged him, lifted him and gave him bed baths. But yeah other than that, no I haven't got any other experience.

Yeah... but we're both coping with it.

[She nodded, listening.]

We don't usually have many longterm patients requiring that kind of care, so learning some first aid will be valuable. Follow me. [She began going down one of the hallways.] Paradisa isn't always a happy place, much as we want it to be, so people do get hurt.

[Aaron follows Dr. Keller out of the room. He lets his gaze wander as she talks.]

I've noticed that. Been here 6 months and shite gets really bad at times.

[Jennifer paused in front of a closed door.]

Yeah... so the least we can do is try to be prepared. [She opened the door; behind it was a cabinet filled with basic medical supplies like bandages.]

This is one of the general-use supply closets- anything that's locked up is heavier-duty medication and supplies, so only a select few staff have keys. Thankfully, because of the castle, we never run out of medical supplies.

True. [Follows her and looks around the closet.] Alright, sound reasonable. Might have been a good idea for Paddy to do that too.

[Looks at Dr. Keller and makes a questioning frown.]

Is there anything from here except bandages I need to be able to find?

Well, there's some basic painkillers- Ibuprofen and the like- splints, wound-cleaning supplies, that kind of thing. We have X-Rays that don't require any special medical knowledge to use, too.

Alright. Isn't X-ray dangerous though?

Not if you use it right- so that's something you will be trained on first, regardless.

[She began moving on down the hallway.] There are some exam and recovery rooms here- so this is where you'll be doing most of your work in a crisis. ... Hopefully next time it won't be more stampeding animals.

[Raises his eyebrow.] Stampeding animals? That's a bit weird. What happened?

I wasn't here for it, but apparently some of us got transported to an island filled with dinosaurs once. I was on a cruise ship in the ocean... I'm almost sorry I missed it, but not very.

Dinosaurs? Wow, I glad I missed that. Dinosaurs are pretty deadly and I don't fancy dying. Wouldn't had mind a cruise tho. Never been on one before.

Yeah... those of us who were on the cruise weren't even aware of what was happening until we docked and picked up everyone else. It sounded pretty awful. We made it out alive, but I wouldn't want to repeat that.

This place is pretty awful. [Takes a sip of his tea and grimaces.] I forgot the sugar. You got some?

Sure thing. [Jennifer went into the nearby staffroom, picking up an assortment of colorful sugar packets.] All of us are tea or coffee addicts here- seems to help with the long hours.

Yeah coffee is good when you're tired. [Half smile. He then spots the sugar and puts three cubes into his drink. He takes another sip and seems pleased with it.] As I'm from England I've drunk a lot of tea too.

Oh, really? [She looks interested, then winks.] I guess that stereotype is true, huh? Tea for everything? [She laughs.]

Guess it depends. I do drink tea occasionally but I think I drink more coffee and beer than tea.

That's the plan- I have regular classes. It's easier for me to teach in groups.
