[Sometimes, Pitch goes and hangs around the stables. He likes horses, kind of-- back at home he'd usually made his nightmare sand creatures look like horses, so it's more that he likes the form than anything else. Especially since... well. The mortal horses in Paradisa are a far cry from his nightmares. Most of them are freaked out by him, for one thing.
So the stables are where he is now, and he's just kind of hanging out. He's actually trying to acclimate the horses to his presence, in the hope that he'll eventually be able to adopt one of the ownerless ones for use as a mount. Not that he's that confident that it'll work, of course; fear of the Boogeyman isn't an easy thing to get over, and he likes it that way. Really, he's just hoping that one will, despite its fear, come to tolerate him enough to let him ride it. It wouldn't be as cool and convenient as riding shadow horses, but he'll take what he can get.
And so, he addresses the journal.]
How many of the horses in the Castle's stables are claimed? They're all interesting to me, but I'm no thief.

[In a matter of speaking, anyway.]

I've done a bit here and there. We should go sometime.

And not far off, Vanyel is quick-marching towards the stables, Yfandes having called him at the mention of the man now amongst them. Vanyel knew whom she spoke of, and he'd be lying if he said Pitch did not make him the tiniest bit nervous. Or a lot. He didn't honestly think the other would do something horrible to mere beasts, but Yfandes was not that....
While Vanyel made his way there, Yfandes would continue to watch, ears flicking back and forth. ]

Wordlessly, he studies her, and holds out a hand for her to sniff if she chooses to.]
Re: action;
[ The mare considers him for a moment, though her nostrils do flare as she scents him. Her head cocks slightly, as if unsure what to make of this, ears slightly canted back, but not fully flat either.
She raised her head higher and let out a braying sound as Vanyel trotted into the stables, the mare pushing past Pitch and clopping to him. Vanyel reached out and stroked her, murmuring something softly before looking to Pitch. ]
You're looking for a mount?
[ There's a not of surprise in his voice. ]
action;
I'm considering it. This one, however, looks like she's spoken for.
Re: action;
Ah yes, she is. This is Yfandes. Yfandes, this man is Pitch.
[ He motioned back and forth with the introductions. The mare moved behind Vanyel, watching Pitch again, though she was pressing up against Vanyel's back. ]
She says hello.
action;
[He's guessing "pretty damn well", but he's not sure.]

[ Large reptilian like animal with very large claws, a tail that could break some bones when swung hard enough, and teeth more than sharp enough to rend some flesh.
And in the barn, he was not so very happy about Pitch, hissing whenever he came to near. ]

[He's definitely noticed the reptilian creature-- he just doesn't know it's the one Ashura is talking about.]

He is rather hard to miss. He is the one with the scales.
[ A dragon-horse, to be exact, but it was perhaps a tad obvious what he was when one got a good look at Svitana. ]

A dragon-horse.
[ So, sort of a horse. Not quite. But almost. You know, if horses were scaled and carnivorous. ]
He is a war-beast from my world.

There's a black mare called "Onyx" that I claim. Were you wanting to go for a ride?

[ Or Onyx can, since she's a horse and knows the others. ]
Dictated
[He won't say why just yet. When they'd spoken a while ago, he'd mentioned that he was the Boogeyman, but he's not sure if she remembers. If she doesn't, he wants to surprise her.]
Dictated
[ Oh, she remembers what he had told her, but she knows one thing from experience: beings can get over their fears if they try. ]
