Do you hear? Whispers in the air, the walls. [He pauses, listening again. How strange, he can hear himself too. Galadriel and Ashura had told him that he'd been here before but it's another thing to hears whispers of himself before.]

Were I not so used to the castle by now, I would think I was going mad.

Yes... especially conversations from so long ago too. The Castle has a long memory, it seems.

I would rather not think about it. There are some things in this Castle's history that no one deserves to live or relive ever.

I agree - though you have to admit it's difficult. You can just never really tell what this place will put us through, even if it does have recurring things at certain times of the year.

You can never tell what anything will put you through.

[Before going to Rivendell, Legolas never would have imagined himself going on a quest to Mordor. But one Gollum and a Hobbit with a ring later, there he goes.]

Heh, I find myself out-logiced. Still, I prefer not to think on it very much. Maybe that makes me sound the coward, but I don't like thinking on the fearful potentialities all the time. It takes far to much energy.

Sometimes, that is all one can think on. [Legolas knew from the start that he was going to Mordor, after all. Knew where his journey is going to end.]

But I understand. I never preferred to think of it myself.

I have enough troubles at home to worry over even after these five years that I hardly need to weigh myself down by thinking up future tortures.

And I would rather not sour the quiet, good moments.

Speaking of quiet moments - we should take this opportunity for you to continue my archery training.

I'm not certain, but every now and I hear ones I remember. People I've met here and only here. It's almost as if the castle itself is acting as the journals do.

I was thinking much the same. I can hear myself. It makes it difficult to disbelieve those who have said I have been here before.

I had no reason not to believe them, the Lady Galadriel would not lie to me on that, but it was not an easy thing to believe.

It's a unique problem to have. How many times have you come and gone, do you know?

Thus far, I can only tell one other time. And no one has mentioned it to me otherwise.

I admit, that much is true but the Lady Galadriel has been here some time. She would be the closest to remembering.

True enough but I trust her most. [It's an elf thing. Also she's hard not to trust when she left the Fellowship chill in Lorien for a little while.]

The number of people we have the luxury of trusting grows thing these days.

Unfortunately so but we do still have some that we trust. Let us hold onto that for now.

Many things have voices that some cannot hear. Stone, trees, animals. Although those here seem to have no voice at all, strangely enough.

Oh, I know animals have voices. Pepper talks to them all the time!

But how can we hear them now?

More natural. And they do not normally use the voices of others. [Normally, ever, same difference.]
