[The winter's taken its toll on Phoebe. It's dark, cold, snowy and she's had to moisturize four times a day just to keep her skin from cracking. All that wears on a girl's spirits after a while. She grabs her journal and dictates (Only sounding slightly whiny...)]

Ugh. I'm so done with winter. Really. I'm from California! We're not made to handle snow. This dry air alone is just ruining my skin.

[She sighs as she slathers more moisturizer on her hands and arms]

You know what I haven't had in ages? A spa day. You know, manicures, facials, the whole nine yards! Oh that just sounds too good right now. Anyone know of someplace here where a girl could get a little TLC? Better yet, any of you ladies out there want to join me for a girl's night out?

I'm from San Francisco, the land of 55 degree winters. [She chuckles] So, yeah, not so much a fan of snow.

I always did like the Winter. Staying inside, staying warm - it's romanticized during the Winter. [ he's having one of those deeper nights, Phoebe. sorry ] There's still the seasons room. You could visit on a beach day. I should visit on a beach day.

[She was also warned to stay away from you, you know, Stefan... but she's always toed the line and, well, what's the harm in talking?]

Oh, believe me, I've gone to the beach about once a week. It's nice, but it's no substitute for walking on the grass, seeing leaves on the trees...

...You know what they say? Spring's right around the corner?

It is, isn't it. You know, I haven't seen Winter turn to Spring here, yet. The seasons changing to Fall and Winter were pretty dramatic... think this one will be, too?

I wouldn't be surprised. And neither have I. It'll be my first.

Seven - eight? Months? June. So, yeah, it's been eight months.

You got here after I did, then. I got here mid May.

... Nearly a year. Hard to believe we've been here for that long.

And so much has happened in that year...

Two trips outside of the castle - well, two... times we've woken up somewhere else completely. There was an expedition I didn't take part in. [ and a good part of that year involved Stefan getting the handle of his blood problem. ]

There have been two expeditions since I've been here... I went on the first one. It was weird going into the Dead Zone.

There was another one? [ Oops. He missed that one completely. ] That's the area where people with powers lose them, isn't it?

Yeah. There was one about a month after I got here, to Lente's point. Then the more recent one.

It is. It's so strange, no powers and no technology.

The First Gens are the first generation of people to live her in Paradisa. They're out in the Dead Zone but no one really knows much about them other than they don't like us. Were you here for the pirate ships?

All of the above, really. [he says it like he didn't just admit to using moisturizer, then jumps RIGHT into the next topic] Winter's usually out of here pretty close to now, though. I give it two weeks, tops. In like a lion, bla bla bla.

I ... actually kinda fell asleep, last year. [because there was a kid-stealing creeper in the midst of the onset of spring] But when I woke up the snow was gone and it was totally spring, so. Yeah.
