[The winter's taken its toll on Phoebe. It's dark, cold, snowy and she's had to moisturize four times a day just to keep her skin from cracking. All that wears on a girl's spirits after a while. She grabs her journal and dictates (Only sounding slightly whiny...)]

Ugh. I'm so done with winter. Really. I'm from California! We're not made to handle snow. This dry air alone is just ruining my skin.

[She sighs as she slathers more moisturizer on her hands and arms]

You know what I haven't had in ages? A spa day. You know, manicures, facials, the whole nine yards! Oh that just sounds too good right now. Anyone know of someplace here where a girl could get a little TLC? Better yet, any of you ladies out there want to join me for a girl's night out?

... Nearly a year. Hard to believe we've been here for that long.

And so much has happened in that year...

Two trips outside of the castle - well, two... times we've woken up somewhere else completely. There was an expedition I didn't take part in. [ and a good part of that year involved Stefan getting the handle of his blood problem. ]

There have been two expeditions since I've been here... I went on the first one. It was weird going into the Dead Zone.

[interpersonally]

There was another one? [ Oops. He missed that one completely. ] That's the area where people with powers lose them, isn't it?

Yeah. There was one about a month after I got here, to Lente's point. Then the more recent one.

It is. It's so strange, no powers and no technology.

I remember hearing about that one.

What was inside?

Inside Lente's Point? One of the First Gens.

[interpersonally]

Inside the Dead Zone. Why did you go in?

...First Gen of what?

Personally I wanted to see what it was like, just what was out there.

You've never heard of the First Gens?

[She throws up a filter. You never know, after all]

The First Gens are the first generation of people to live her in Paradisa. They're out in the Dead Zone but no one really knows much about them other than they don't like us. Were you here for the pirate ships?

I was here for the pirate ships. Except, my pirate ship was a luxury cruise liner.

[Stefan]

Ahh, you were the lucky ones. I was on the one that was attacked.

[Phoebe] sorry for slowness!

And you survived.

I did. I took a bullet to the leg, but I survived. I also made a lot of friends on that trip.

Friends are a good thing.

They are. But enough about that. What have you been up to?

I have been baking pies. I work at the Pie Hole.

You bake? Huh. I don't know if I'd ever have called that.

[Phoebe]

I can cook. So, right now, I bake.

[Stefan]

I think that's great. What's your favorite thing to make?

[Phoebe]

Italian. Really good pasta.

[Stefan]

Oooo I've been to that Italian place in town, which isn't too bad, but you can't compare to a genuine Italian restaurant back home.

[Phoebe]

Nothing compares to genuine Italian.

[Stefan]
