THE THIRTEENTH BODY | (dictated)

So, here's a weird thought. Three days and I'll be celebrating the end of my first year in our little Hell-castle. Talk about wild. Got the old journal to prove it.

Anybody figure out what they're going to do with that warm, fuzzy record of Paradisa-past, by the way? I was thinking maybe bon-fire. [ It happened to have any record of him and his messy decision to slaughter residents and townspeople alike to look like the hero, so, well, he's not eager to keep it around for the memories. ]

If you don't want it, I'm sure there's someone who's curious about the history of the castle that's interested.

And I'm guessing that someone would happen to be a friend of yours. How'm I doin' so far?

Not necessarily. I have my own copy and most of the people I know do as well, but I'm sure someone could find it a good home.

I'd just hate to see good information go to waste.

That's right, I keep forgetting. Some people here really believe that if they squint at it long enough, they'll figure out the castle's ~mysteries.~

I hardly expect a how-to manual between the lines, but information is information. You never know what patterns you might find.

Or what kind of hours you'll waste with your sticky notes and annotations.

Do you have something better to do with your time while you're stuck in a magical, arguably sentient castle?

It's a magical, arguably sentient castle that grants wishes. I think the wisest choice is obvious: we party.

Personally, I wouldn't trust something that can give you everything but charges a price of admission, when you don't want to be admitted in the first place.

Who needs trust? I'm not talking about marrying the castle.

Only a matter of time before all those wishes start to backfire.

I believe the backfire is what we call a loss. Not exactly breaking news.

I'd hardly consider that a backfire. If anything the losses seem rather trivial.

You've clearly never been around for a good one.

Has it only been a year? Somehow, it feels like it's been much longer.

Do people celebrate their anniversaries here?

You should keep it. What happens if you get sent home only to come back? Wouldn't you want a record of what you'd done previously?

You're still here? God, you've gotta qualify for Paradisa's equivalent of AARP by now.

Some do, some don't. Some just look for excuses to party. Kinda like Mystic Falls, if you think about it. [ There's a verbal shrug in there. ] I'm not big on dwelling, personally. Who cares what I did?
