[but the pen slides out of his hand before he can finish writing and there's the sound of the journal hitting the floor along with Dextera's unconscious body. looks like the weird blobs got someone else.]

[ her fists clench. no.... this sucks so much. she touches his wrist, because it's nice to at least feel a pulse. ]

Are you a friend of his?

[It's a little more complicated that friendship with Dextera, but it will probably do for now]

If you're taking him to the clinic, I'm coming.

[He's really not going to bother arguing, so he just nods and does his best to get Dextera up off the ground and moving towards the clinic]

[ good. don't ask her what she thinks she can do, because that is a big fat bowl of nothing. ...which she feels bad for. :( she follows. ]

[Yeah, no, shortie. Not that...he's doing great at this. Thankfully the clinic isn't terribly far]

[ she's 5'7", actually ;) but she looks like a twig, so he can't really be blamed for thinking she'd be ineffectual. she continues to trot alongside, looking worriedly at dextera. ]

[Oh. Well then...he IS 6'2", so there is that, but yes...

[ oh god, so does she. she's happy that he's talking ]

Yeah, a while now. I lent him duct tape the first time I let him. He's way too nice for something like this to happen to.

[He makes a sighing sound of agreement]

He's far too nice for everything, which tends to be the problem.

Problem? [ she gives him a quizzical look. ] I know they say too nice people can be pushovers... do people bully him or something?

[A slight pause. Well, given what he'd seen...]

Not that I'm aware. Not here, anyway. It's more a matter of...naïvete...

He does have a lot of questions. Almost as much as me.

[ she thinks about that. probably yes. dextera's world is Weird, after all. she glances up at felix, and then tilts her head. ]

[He frowns, clearly not sure if he remembers her]

It's possible. I have been here awhile.

I guess I've been here a while, too, if almost-a-year counts as a while... [ squinting more. ] Yeah, I've definitely seen you more than once before.

[He thinks a moment] You went on the last expedition, didn't you?

[ she makes a face. ]

Yeah, I did. Blehhh. That turned out great.

He pauses as they approach the clinic]

I might recommend...giving the next one a miss...

[ she is sorta planning a secret trip with a friend, but shhh. ]

Why? Are you guys going some place new?

[lord_wizard]

What? ...No. Not that I aware at least. But I'm there will be others, I'm sure...

[He'll make sure of that fact if he has to, even if he probably won't go himself.

Felix walks into the clinic and hands Dextera off to one of the doctors, a grim, worried expression on his face]

[blabs]

[ she bites her lip, and hangs back to watch them do their thing. ]

[A few minutes later and Felix returns with a sigh]
