INGEN ARRIVE
Jun. 22nd, 2013 03:31 am![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
[You guys have all done a fantastic job of subduing the T-Rex. There has been lots of damage, but there have been minimal casualties.
InGen helicopters fly in, shooting sedatives at the Rex, bringing it down. A loudspeaker sounding from one of them]
Attention civilians, there is no cause for alarm. Please remain still while we capture our specimen. We repeat, there is no cause for alarm.
[Ten InGen trucks sward the area, with them a big caged truck, as the Rex falls to the ground, sedated. InGen staff pour out of the vehicles, pulling out winches and wheels to drag the Rex into the cage. Staff keep repeating the same message over and over]
There is no cause for alarm. Please go back to your homes. The specimine is being returned to Isla Sorna. There is no cause for alarm. InGen have the situation under control.
[Eventually, they get the Rex on their truck and head towards the docks, presumably to indeed send it back to the island. Opening up a brand new park when the main attraction tried to kill everyone wouldn't be wise, after all. Look at what happened to King Kong.
Residents will find the docks cordoned off, InGen going into complete lockdown over the situation. It seems they have finally survived their dinosaur adventure]

( [John Hammond, or anyone who could bring this to his attention] )
[that little gamble being made, she sets her journal aside and takes her time to finish her breakfast, even taking the time to read the newspaper that was delivered. it's all old news, really, by her standards, but it's good to even have the vestiges of a familiar routine. once she's done, she dresses for the day and opens the journal again]
It seems we have the day free, in a city that's at least passingly familiar to me. I've been to San Diego on buisness on one or two occasions, and I'm in a mood to get to know the city on a more casual level. Would anyone care to join me?

River Tam has left Paradisa again.
It is better this way... she'll be waiting for me back home and will get her memories back.
My sincere thanks to everyone who cared for her and showed her kindness during her time here. I am her brother and would normally have taken care of her, but I was her price to come to Paradisa, and so was never able to have the level of closeness to her I would have liked. Knowing she had many friends to look out for her eased that pain a little.

One begins to wonder if there are landmarks from all our homes in this country, built in anticipation of our arrival during some sort of loss. I find myself picturing a counterfeit Mirador, brimming with wizards going about their business without any meaningful effect on the world around them.
The sky would be the only telling flaw - though, with a windowless building, no one would notice.
Have there been any attempts to chart the stars of Paradisa's sky? Astronomy has never been among my strengths, but I can recognize enough of the stars at home to know that these are not the same.

[this isn't Gale's first time in a hotel, but the Hard Rock San Diego is a far sight different than the ones in Unova. as such, he is being a total tourist. anyone in the lobby can find him sitting at a table, every single brochure he could get his hands on spread out in front of him, poring over their contents with great curiosity]
... This city is even bigger and more extravagant than the Capitol. I didn't think that was even possible. And yet ... they've still got places where they preserve nature, these parks. If this is what it was like before the Districts ...
[he shakes his head, sadly] ... I wish we hadn't forgotten. We lost track of what it means to take care of the world around us as well as the people in it. I hope that doesn't happen to Paradisa, either.
[he picks up one brochure and squints at it, curiously] This one doesn't look like a park, though. Not ... well, sort of, I guess? [he makes a face, because seriously, even the word is weird and sounds odd coming out of his mouth]
What's "golf"?

I've been looking... I've searched everywhere. The whole castle, the town. But she's not-- Emma's...
[he should be okay with this. She's back where she belongs: with her parents, out looking for Henry. It's where she should be, not stuck here. And the worst part is he doesn't know for sure that she really left. He's read back, he's seen the map. All he can do is believe that she's okay]
( To his Grace King Robb of the North )
[edited in later]
Hook too. Guess they left at the same time.

[ So somebody is not happy that he got stuck on a cruise ship whilst the others got to fuck around with Dinosaurs.
The Ancient one's disposed of dinosaurs in his world long ago. The manuscripts pretty much stated that they were nothing more then a failed idea to keep the world in balance. So they were never used in his line of work. Being denied the chance to see and interact with monsters that he'd never seen before was just the biggest dick move paradisa could have pulled in his opinion.
He might be sitting in a high class hotel lobby but he'd very much like to express his opinion.]
Fuck you! Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you and...Oh yeah fuck you castle.
[He sighs before speaking again.]
I used to love Dinosaurs as a kid. I used to have shelves and shelves of these books back home detailing carnivores, herbivores...details on how they lived, eat, slept, crapped, that kind of thing.
So yeah I'm pretty fucking bitter that the castle fucked me in the ass and denied me the chance to see them!
...I wonder if golfs a good way to cool off?

[Maladict had assumed Nikola had been on the cruise ship, while she was on the dinosaur island. Probably getting drunk off his stupid face on copious amounts of wine, so she had not allowed herself to worry about him. When she couldn't find him on the ship when they were rescued, a small sliver of it had appeared.
She'd remained in her hotel room for the remainder of that time, the worry only growing with each passing hour. She had no real desire to check out more Earth culture, Paradisa was already saturated with it as it was. She didn't need any more of it. Besides, she should be in one place, just in case. But the just in case never came. So, when she finally slept alone and woke up back in the castle alone she knew something was very, very wrong.
She stars at the empty spot on the bed for a moment, before getting up, getting dressed, delaying the inevitable. Eventually though, she opens the door to their room. Where there were two names, there was no only one. She swears in Borograian, slamming a fist through the wall. She fucking hates this place. She hates it so much. How DARE it make her feel safe to care about someone only to take them away. She leaves then, knowing she can't remain in the castle right now, casting a furtive glance to the door across the hall. It goes to show how much she cares about them that she bothers to leave the filter at all]

[Evan's just walking near the pier, looking for what would normally be the familiar sight of Utopia off in the distance, but seeing as how this San Diego wasn't his San Diego, it's nowhere to be found. He sighs into the journal, grateful that the natives here weren't giving him strange looks.]
It's kinda funny. In my world, San Diego is the home of the "other" school for mutants like me, Graymalkin Industries, and Utopia, which is an island nation created just for mutants. Normally, you can see if from anywhere on the San Diego coast.
It doesn't exist here, even a little. Yet...people don't look at me like I've got a second head when I walk around. I did pretty well in my class on parallel universes and stuff, but...stuff like this is just beyond me. Has anything like this ever happened before? What was it like?
[Meanwhile, Evan's just gonna be skipping rocks in the ocean, and trying not to think about the fact that he had to beat on a pack of dinosaurs, and did so more viciously and powerfully than he likes to think himself capable.]
