[Lux filter]
[Steve wasn't scheduled to work until Tuesday after his cold turned full blown trip back home. Steve being Steve couldn't let that stand. The others worked hard over the past week to cover for him. The least he could do was come in a little earlier than expected to make it up to them; to prove how much he appreciated what they did. Of course it would probably help letting them know what they were in for early too. The change he went through back home could be a little distracting.
That's part of the reason he sought out Max first. They hadn't crossed paths yet and she was his friend. She deserved to hear it from him already rather than get surprised by it out of the blue. The thing was she wasn't anywhere to be found immediately. He didn't think much of it until he finds her on the floor in the kitchen. It doesn't quite hit him at first. He thinks she must have slipped. She'll get up any second now and be shocked to see him like everyone else. The second passes and she still doesn't move. He forces himself to say something. This must be a mistake.]
Max...? [Still nothing. His mind threatens to go completely blank from the shock of her not moving at all. How could she not be...?
Steve shoves the shock aside. This is his friend and she needs help. He has to help her. He'd have time to think about the implications of what he is seeing after he does something. Steve moves to her side, tries to get a response from her, and looks for signs of what could have caused this. When he sees the bite, Steve isn't sure to be relieved or more worried. He heard about what was happening in the journals. He just never thought it'd happen to Max of all people. Regardless, Steve knows what to do next. He opens his journal.]

I found Max unconscious in the Lux kitchen. I'm going to take her to the Clinic. Whoever is taking care of these things? I want in once I get her there safely.
[This would be the sound of him picking up Max and rapid footsteps. He is walking out of the Lux as fast as he can with his journal still open on top of her.]
Assuming they don't come back for you later. If they do then I'm staying with her until it's over. Just let me know either way.
