[it's a while after Adachi discovered his new blank journal that he runs into another surprise: his Christmas present from the castle.

His just closed journal opens back up again as he falls back against his table, knocking it off]

[something actually replies back to him, and it sure doesn't sound human... or like any animal. In fact it is very screechy and just bizarre. But at least it sounds... happy?]

[a brief silence. TIME TO GET MORE AGGRESSIVE.]

[but then whatever-it-is just makes those screechy noises again. This time very distinctively UNHAPPILY, almost like crying. It also sounds like something just slithered away.]

I... guess so? I don't know I just found him in my laundry! And he flipped out when I tried to put him back in a TV...

[the Shadow looks at Adachi, then to Kanji, then back to Adachi before returning to shoe shenanigans. YOUR CONVERSATION IS ALREADY BORING TO HIM]

[He stares awkwardly at the shadow playing with the shoe. He's caught between the cute and 'oh shit this is a dangerous thing!']

Never thought I'd say it, but he's cute. Super cute. You think this is one of the things the castle does or whatever?

Yeah, seriously. He somehow grew himself a body in the suit after he got his Persona. I don't get it at all, but he had fun with it.

You know, maybe you're right. Just...keep an eye on him, especially if he is like the bear. Because take your eye off Teddie for a minute and he'd get himself in trouble.

[as they were talking though the Shadow decided it wanted to play Hide-In-Laundry-Pile and slithered right on over there, so when Adachi looked back behind him the little guy was seemingly gone]

[Because the cute little shadow does make Kanji nervous, he's been keeping half an eye on it. He is so not impressed, Adachi.]

[Adachi falls right back on his ass. The Shadow looks really pleased with himself and slips over to Adachi, trying to get up on one of his legs. DADDY HE WANTS UP PICK HIM UP]

[He's just as startled as Adachi when the shadow screeches, but then it...acts like a goddamned little puppy begging for attention.
