Hello. My name is Hank Henshaw. Some of you may know me, some have you may not.

For those who don't, I have a proposition for you: I've started a little something I'm calling the Eschaton Society and would very much like for you to join. It's a cabal, of sorts, that would welcome anyone who is dedicated to further understanding the nature of Paradisa and especially those who do not allow society to place any constraints upon them. I'm sure we all have our own agendas here, and I like to think that the Society can accommodate us all and help us to achieve our myriad goals by providing both resources and security from those who seek to impede us.

So in the interest of encouraging cooperation, I would like to set up a little get-together, at whatever time would be acceptable for everyone.

In the meantime, I would also like to speak with anyone skilled in science, politics, or business.

I will gladly answer any questions you may have, and look forward to working with all of you.

Help run the equivalent of a mercenary police force. Think private military but... smaller.

You heard me. A defense force from which we could flex our might and influence in a way that would be, more or less, legal.

Defense from what? We wouldn't be... [this is hard to even say] ...upholding laws, would we?

There comes the fun part. We'll create an enemy - an opposing force to fight against. A threat that would force the town to rely on us.

That pretext, combined with a little influence in the town's government, means we'll be making the laws. Any kind we want. We'd be free to move and do as we please.

So... we would be working to control the town, not so much the castle?

That would cut out a lot of the heroic meddling...

WE could even keep tabs on them. No doubt they'd want to get involved, so why not have them on our pay-roll, so to speak?

With the dissolution of the Patrol, I bet there are some who still want to be a part of something constructive.
