[ Have you been around the castle this evening? It sure is creepy. Electricity going off in the daytime is just plain annoying, but then to be submitted to pure darkness? Not to mention the chill in the air. Really, it's probably just smarter for people to stay camped out in their rooms and share ghost stories around a flashlight.

But any who should wander out into the rest of the castle, be it the halls, kitchen, library, or what have you... Well, the silence doesn't help the mood. Of course, that probably means nobody else is around, right? That should be comforting.

Or it would be if something soft hadn't just brushed against your leg. Or you might have suddenly heard something small knocked over too far away to see. Or, there could even be the distinct sound of a light growl coming from...somewhere. It's so hard to tell with the castle's acoustics!

Wherever or whatever it is, there's definitely something stalking you. How do you react? ]

[Spike only made a quick dash away from all the GIRLY STUFF, but now he almost wishes he stayed put. He stops, hearing a little growl.

OH SNAP IS IT A MANTICORE?]

Uh...hi?

[ There's no response, just complete silence after that. ]

[Spike pauses, trying to listen. But there's nothing]

Ooookay, starting to go crazy.

[ Still silence. Then, just when he's convinced he might be alone, something furry pounces him with the mightiest little roar it can muster. ]

[OH HOLY CRAP SOMETHING IS TRYING TO MURDER HIM.

Oh...wait. It's small and furry and doesn't roar well. Not that Spike could judge roaring, his is no doubt equally pathetic, were he ever inclined to try]

Uh...good...[ turning to try and see wtf it is on top of him] ...lion?

[just ignore it.

She's walking down a hallway, taking a break from the roof and looking extremely unperturbed.]

[ Well that's no fun. On the other hand, maybe it's just because she can't hear him at all, which is even better. So he just continues to creep along nearby for now, waiting for her to stop. ]

[she finally pauses by a window, looking outside. An ear swivels about, pointing in his direction.]

[ He sees that, staying low and still like his dad taught him. Zebra react that way too, and then it's just the waiting game unless one of them starts to run. ]

[There's someone walking the hallways, and pausing every now and then. The figure is a metal-clad, 7'8" behemoth.

For the third time, he stops, and swears lowly.]

[ What on earth are you swearing at? It's just ~silence~. ]

[He's swearing because his night vision is on the fritz. And he keep has to keep stopping until it clears. He'll be damned if he's walking blind. Even a static-filled field of vision was still a field of vision.]

[ And it probably isn't that comforting when something suddenly darts by in front of him. ]

[Ran lets out a high-pitched yelp when she feels something---something short rub against the back of her leg, nearly causing her to stumble forward.]

Wh-what was that?! Ai-chan...? C-C-Conan-kun...?! Anyone...?!

[ There's no response, just silence for now. ]

[Silence is much worse than any kind of sound.]

....C...Conan-kun...? [Apprehensively, Ran took another step forward, dragging her feet lest she step on something.]

[ Unfortunately that might resort in sudden tripping! ]

[Kermit shakes like a leaf. ... just for a few seconds, though, before he pulls himself together - mostly - and looks around]

[ Oh man he can't resist this, no matter what Kermit says. But this time instead of tackling him right away, he's just going to slowly stalk behind him. ]

[yep, definitely not liking today, in the least. he'll keep looking around, shaking a little more prominently with each step.

eventually the shaking is actually audible]

[ Simba can't help but kind of snicker quietly at that. ]

[Hey, Simba, ever seen a child rolling down the hallway like ball? You have, now! She seems unperturbed by the noises thus far]

[ No he has not. In fact it's far too distracting to stalk, as he scrambles out of the way and sits back to watch her go by. What was that? ]

[She hears the scrambling and rolls up into a handstand, looking around for the source of the noise]

[ Simba stays still, tilting his head at her and wondering if she can see him. Most humans sure haven't been able to. ]
