So, I was thinking... This may sound ridiculous.

We got to know each other so well in Paris, but I didn't really get you anything for Christmas, and I feel like I should have, considering nobody would have gotten their presents if not for you.

So why don't I make you some lunch sometime? Any day is fine, since I work evenings. If you like, we can go horseback riding and have a picnic. There's a large tree not too far out that's...surprisingly warm.

I'll be honest and say that Friday really lived up to its reputation, didn't it? I heard a lot of people got creeped out, but I didn't hear about anything serious happening. At least I hope that's right.

It would help if people checked in and let me know they're okay.

So I've heard. It makes sense. We are outsiders, after all. There's always fear of the unknown.

Not just that, but they've had to suffer massacres because of castle residents on more than one occasion.

I found the last large scale one, caused by Arthas and Riful. That was shortly before we learned they were allied.

I can empathize with them. I suppose that's why I stay here. If you live here long enough, maybe you'll understand what I have.

Perhaps. Time always lends to more understanding. Someone who's lived here long of course has seen things I haven't.

And even in my time I've seen enough to know why they would be uneasy about us. As you've stated, many residents have attacked them. Arathas, Riful, Damon. And more, I'm sure.

Right, well, fortunately you have managed to remain unscathed so far during your stay.

So hopefully we can get you settled into the city soon and you can at least avoid a fraction of the castle antics.

If you run into too many problems, look me up. I know of a few properties you might like, if you don't mind being near some businesses. Small mom and pop stores, you know.

I like it, actually. It's pretty convenient, so long as you aren't used to wishing for things from the castle. Hard to compete with that I suppose...

I prefer to earn my things, actually. Wishing holds little satisfaction to me.

Well that's actually a relief. That means you'll settle into city life faster.

I've lived in Los Angeles for years. Somehow, I think I'll do just fine with city life here.

You'd be surprised how many people depend on the castle, despite being used to roughing it in their home world.

Many people like to take the easy route, if it's presented to them. That's not really surprising.

So what do you think makes you different?

Because I've always had to work hard for what I've had. It's rewarding. It's satisfying. It gives me a sense of pride.

I don't want to owe anything to anyone or anything.
