I'll be honest and say that Friday really lived up to its reputation, didn't it? I heard a lot of people got creeped out, but I didn't hear about anything serious happening. At least I hope that's right.
It would help if people checked in and let me know they're okay.
So, I was thinking... This may sound ridiculous.
[ Shut up she isn't flustered ahem ahem. ]
We got to know each other so well in Paris, but I didn't really get you anything for Christmas, and I feel like I should have, considering nobody would have gotten their presents if not for you.
So why don't I make you some lunch sometime? Any day is fine, since I work evenings. If you like, we can go horseback riding and have a picnic. There's a large tree not too far out that's...surprisingly warm.

How's the house hunt going?
[ If all's been according to plan, then terribly. But Lana can't be controlling everything so she has to check and see. It's a casual enough question, right? Especially when the person asking was supposed to be the one 'recommending' you... ]

I'd like to meet, and talk. Something I wish I had done more the last time you were here. What day are you free?
[ No she isn't asking if Tess wants to talk. That isn't even an option, honey. ]

I wanted to thank the both of you properly for helping me back at Libet. I know I wasn't really aware of what was going on when I eventually woke up, so...
Thank you. And if there's anything I can do to pay you back, let me know.

I got a new toy.

Ezio
They do. They...understood there was a better way to advance. But alchemy did help pave the road for today's science.

[ She's about to suggest The Doctor, but then thinks that might make poor Ezio's brain explode. Ray? ...Maybe she should stick to more normal or modern science. ]
I can find you some documentaries, if you're actually interested. But you really struck me as more of an art lover in Paris.
Lana (mental image of Lana showing Ezio videos of Bill Nye the Science Guy)
Stephanie showed me a documentary about Leonardo. It was interesting. Perhaps a documentary on chemistry would be interesting, as well.
[He's amused, though, because he doesn't really have much appreciation for art. He just buys it. And knows a lot about it because of his stupid awesome friend.]
Ezio (LMAO now I wish she'd do something silly like that...)
I was going to ask how much your friendship with him affected your appreciation of art. You seemed animated about your opinions, but they were less...of what I would have heard from another art student.
Lana (lmao it's okay lana he loves you the way you are)
I suppose, when we became friends and I spent more time in his workshop, or some time when we travelled from Firenze to Venezia together, I learned more about art and its purpose beyond just splashing paint around. And there was still my mother -- seeing as we lost all her favourite pieces with the villa in Firenze, I thought to replace them, so I buy paintings often and ship them back to Monteriggioni. When you spend a lot of money on a piece, it needs to be worth it, you know? That takes a certain amount of know-how.
Truth be told, I prefer Leonardo's inventions to his art. I suspect if he had the chance to give up art entirely in favour of inventions, he might have done it. That... and, ah, I know many of the models. It is hard to be impressed with most artwork when you know many of them are failed attempts to capture the model's beauty.
Ezio
It's too bad you can't see his inventions here again.
Lana
Ezio
Lana
There would be no need. Most of them have likely been replaced by versions of the same thing from your time, and I must admit, your flying machines look much more comfortable than his are.
Ezio
LET HER SEE]Probably, but it's all commercialized now. I think it's the flawless blend of art and science that made his works so interesting. You don't see it often enough.
Lana
Few people would call his inventions art, Lana. [Listen to him roll that name with that accent.] Especially not given what he is working on in my time. His war machines... if any of them are brought to life, they'll change the face of war forever.
Ezio
Also Ezio the face of war was changed forever with a certain bomb. You have nothing
EVERYTHINGto fear. ]I didn't mean to imply anything disrespectful.
Lana
I did not take it as such, signora.
