We got to know each other so well in Paris, but I didn't really get you anything for Christmas, and I feel like I should have, considering nobody would have gotten their presents if not for you.

So why don't I make you some lunch sometime? Any day is fine, since I work evenings. If you like, we can go horseback riding and have a picnic. There's a large tree not too far out that's...surprisingly warm.

I'll be honest and say that Friday really lived up to its reputation, didn't it? I heard a lot of people got creeped out, but I didn't hear about anything serious happening. At least I hope that's right.

Earth does seem to be a popular home base for residents. And there seem to be a lot more version of it than anything else. I wonder why.

Who knows, really? After finding out my world was connected to another one none of us knew about, anything's possible.

Yep. It used to be one world, but it got split into two somehow. And only very recently did it get reunited again.

I found out that in an alternate universe, I marry a childhood friend who actually moved away years ago, and he becomes President, which is our country's leader. Which would make me First Lady.

I thought Presidents were for companies, not countries. [DEMOCRACY WHAT IS THAT]

They're for both. But it's not exactly the same.

Our country relies on democracy. We vote for our leader, rather than let them inherit leadership through merit of bloodline. [ There's more to it obviously but that's the basic glaring different to a foreigner. ]

So like...any person could become the leader as long as enough people voted?

Well there are other necessary qualifications, but that's the general idea.

And what happens when people decide they don't want someone as a leader anymore?

Last I checked, people aren't keen on giving up power.

Well, a US President can only be elected for two terms, and one term is four years.

So every four to eight years...you get a new one?
