Would you leave the Castle now, if you could?

Friday was unfortunate. But for most of the year, surely it has given us a comfortable home and the most singular of friends.

And so, as for myself, I would not. I should like to tarry here a little longer, if only to relish the taste of liberty and the fruits of invention. Refrigerators are so magnificent!

[ With that, she will be in the kitchen with the fridge door open, sticking her hands into it with glee. ]

I've never thought of that before. I'm okay with the third floor, though.

I could show you the roof some time. The view is magnificent.

If there's one thing I like about Paradisa, it's the views from rooftops, especially at night. Never seen a blue moon back home before.

Indeed. At least, never such a striking shade of blue.

Where are you from? [ reading the other conversations anyway and eyeing certain names. ]

I am from Rome, in the year 1493. How about yourself?

1493. [ a whistle. ] Culture shock, much?

Gotham City. It was 2011 for me.

It was quite a shock, but I have friends to hold my hand so it was not so terrible.

Where is Gotham City?

In America. If we're from similar earths, it won't be until 1513 that the first documented arrival would be on what we call Florida.

So you are an American. There are many of you here. And you are from Florida?

Cristoforo Colombo has found the new land and received the Pope's blessing for its exploration.

That and a lot of Japanese people. [ heh ] No, I'm from New Jersey, actually. There's fifty states; Florida's just one of them.

So America resembles Italy, with many principalities and little kings?

It's in the Pacific Ocean. It's an island. [ Doodles in the shape of it -- not perfect, but to give her a general idea. ]

No kings or any monarchs here. Constitutional republic, where we elect our leaders.

It is similar to the papal seat then?

A little, I suppose, but not quite. Where I'm from, we keep church and state separated.
