second trial ރ mediation
[ Ten days. Ten days in which she's spoken to a few people. Ten days of realizing she isn't returning to Chicago.
She spent a few days thinking about the law or lack thereof at Paradisa. She thinks she has a solution, or at least an idea she can propose. Starting a firm takes work. It takes money. It takes resources. It also takes clients. She can't focus on the endgame. Alicia always stays in the moment.
Back home she was dealing with financial issues, an overbearing mother-in-law, trust issues which have transferred... But, she had a job to funnel her energy into.
She puts her pen to journal paper. ]
Hello. My name is Alicia Florrick. I've been informed that Paradisa doesn't have a set system of laws. [ Or, a firm. Or, practicing lawyers. She's not interested in establishing one. ] But, I wanted to offer my services for mediation. If there are those here with disputes they can't solve themselves, I'm open to helping both parties reach a sufficient settlement.
[ Hell, at this point she'd be a contract lawyer. But, all things in due time. This is simply her first immediate idea. ]
( kalinda )
[ right now, it's easier to make needless conversation then address real issues ]
I'm expecting a wide range of responses. I'm not expecting anyone to bite right off the bat. I think what matters is I put it out there. [ and then ] There were dancing lobsters in the lobby the other day.
( law filter )
From what I've gathered, practicing law hasn't panned out here yet. Residents are uninterested, skeptical. Suspicious. We should think about making a real attempt to change this.

Alicia; :*
[The real question was why was she questioning this. Especially here.]
They weren't hurting anyone, were they?
Kalinda; MUAH
Alicia; squealing
Oh.
[That sure is a thing.]
Who's to say characters from a B-movie can't have fun?
Kalinda; their love was kept at arms' length
Alicia; sobbing
By all means, I can see you stepping in if it would help to resolve a situation.
Kalinda; /holds
If need be, I'd step in.
Alicia; /nuzzles
I hope you don't expect to step into the middle of an escalating conflict.
Kalinda; /steals a kiss
Alicia; 0u0 !!
If that occurred, I would dare to say that your touch in resolving matters is slipping.
