second election [ dictated ]
[ Laura had thought about the idea ever since it had been suggested to her. The journals were connected; they transcribed, dictated and seemed to follow you if you left it anywhere.
Someone had mentioned to throw it in a fire. It wasn't a bad idea, and it could possibly tell them something more.
It was one reason that Laura had gone to Starbuck, other than to see her - she'd always respected the woman even with their differences. And Starbuck was good at managing to pull off crazy stunts, it didn't hurt to have her there. That and Laura needed a lighter, and she knew that she'd have one ]
This'll end up being the only book not to burn with this luck.
[ Taking the lighter from Starbuck the older woman opened her journal, lighting a page from the middle, one of the blank ones, before lighting another, and then the entire journal. It apparently did burn ]
[ ooc; the first two pages that Laura burns will burn in every journal but when she lights the rest of the journal only hers will burn. & as Miren's on hiatus Starbuck's replies will be later :3 ]

He's kind of attached to that thing.
The second he sees the flames, he throws a towel on it, trying to dampen out the flames before he address the voice he vaguely remembers hearing right before it happened]
What the hell are you doing?

[ Had she expected other journals to also set on first? No. Not 100% anyway ]

[Sam? Not happy? You could say that.]
Why are you trying to destroy the journals?
no subject
[ But point taken ]
To see what would happen.
[ And the journal is stupid ]
no subject
Did you think it wouldn't burn?
no subject
I knew mine would, I didn't know others would.

[sighs]
And this is our history. I don't think too many people are going to take lightly to you trying to destroy it.

[ There's a pause before she answers that second part ]
Apparently they don't have to worry.

... What was that?

[ Although with her setting more of her journal on fire it won't be long before their conversation is cut short... for now ]

What was the question? How flammable is my journal?

[ Good to know, that means they're linked by the elements as well. As smug and bothered as she sounds, she's a little grateful to know this information, thanks to Laura.
She softens. ]
Apparently.

[ And... oh, her journal is all recovered and not burned ]
And apparently indestructible.

[ A second, she bends down, touches the page she'd been reading. ]
It's cold. As if nothing happened.
