The Thirty-Seventh Day
Wait so... isn't April Fool's Day tomorrow?
Guys... does anyone else think that we should do something to prepare? In case, you know, the castle wants to particularly screw with us or something?

well last year it just made everybody start singing
so maybe preparing a musical number in advance would be helpful

going by what ive been told april fools seems to be an exception to that rule
the singing is something of a tradition

thirteen months and two days to be more precise 0_0

but I don't feel like doing math]uhhh thank you
im not sure what i did though
no subject
[Because math is for losers, anyway.]
OKAY I HOPE MY MATH IS RIGHT i forgot the leap day at first lol
haha thats just the time powers at work
its like having an internal clock set to the absolute timeframe of the universe so i know exactly when i am at all times
if you really want precision its been 34,304,143 seconds altogether
or 33,461,674 if you count that time i skipped ten days
Fff, I'd hardly notice. I liked math back when it was numbers in high school, but now... >.>;;
now it's all letters lololol
just a sort of intuitive knowledge as to how time works and the rate at which it passes in any given circumstance
its essential to have that if youre going to manipulate it effectively
dave can probably do it too since his powers are very similar to mine
of course hes not around at the moment but still
hes human at any rate
Geez... I love English, but... Math and English should be separate subjects. >.>

how much did equius tell you about it out of curiosity :0

i could go over the basics though if you want
just so you get an idea
((ooc: i don't actually know how far you are in HS so i will return the favor of asking if spoilers are ok 0u0))

((ooc: Haha, well, I haven't had the time to read it for the past few months... but I've read the vast majority. I know everything all the way up to the alpha kids, and I know who each of them are by name, although not much beyond that. I'd prefer to not get spoiled for anything that's revealed after the alpha kids are introduced, but I don't think you'd need it for a description of sburb/sgrub...?))

ok then
on the surface sgrub is a computer game but of course theres a lot more to it than that
the code has to be parsed from hieroglyphs in ancient frog temples
once thats put together the players can begin connecting
with one acting as the server and the other as the client
that continues in a chain until all the players in the session are connected as both the server to one person and the client to another
and ultimately the last person connects as client to the first
does that all make sense so far

OK LEMME KNOW IF I START TL;DRING TOO MUCH
so in the earliest stage of the game the object is to get all the players off their home planet and onto their respective planets in the medium before the meteors touch down
once the first player is in the next priority is to get their server player in and so on
because if the chain gets broken the game becomes unwinnable
also before you enter you have to prototype a thing called the kernel by throwing weird stuff into it
then the kernel becomes the kernelsprite and guides its players through the game
all of us prototyped them with our deceased lusii
except me since mine died a long time before we started playing
prototyping before entry is essential to winning the game as well
but everything that gets prototyped affects the shape and powers of the enemies that appear on the planets
Alright, will do! You're doing an impressive job of summarizing it thus far, though!
lol thanks... let's see how far i can get without needing to consult the wiki
so at this point weve got everybody in the medium along with their hives
err houses
now the primary functionality of the game for the server player is it allows them to physically manipulate the clients house and surrounding environment through the program
each server player therefore has to build up their clients house to allow them access to the seven gates above the house
using a material called grist which is scarce at first but becomes more abundant as you kill enemies who drop it
the client players job is to kill enemies and collect grist and ascend
and to fulfill the quests on their respective planets which of course vary greatly for each individual
and may or may not involve killing the denizen which is sort of an optional boss
you can also bargain with the denizens for various reasons although nobody in my session had the patience to do that :p
meanwhile though
all this grist collection and alchemitizing and questing has a greater purpose
which is to perform the Ultimate Alchemy
You can do it! I BELIEVE IN YOU!! :D
no subject
except you cant actually control your client player that would be silly
but yeah theres a device called an alchemiter that you use to make stuff
equius managed to reverse engineer one here actually if you want to try it out sometime

OKAY, TIME TO DO 50 TAGS
i mostly use it to make clothes and weapons but you can do just about anything with it
anyway though
as the game progresses so does the fighting on the battlefield
the armies of prospit and derse meet in combat
eventually and inevitably the white king is killed and the black king uses his scepter to initiate the reckoning
in which he calls down the asteroids from their orbit for one final assault on skaia
this is the sign that the game is coming to a close
at that point the players must reunite to fight him in a monumental final battle
only after his defeat can the Speaker utter the Vast Croak
and the players claim
YOU CAN DO IT I BELIEVE IN YOU!!
So... it's like Sims but with battles that kind of reference chess? And then it all comes together so everyone has to fight one final boss battle... and win...?
ALL RIGHT, 30 DOWN 40 TO GO. WAIT HOW DID THIS HAPPEN
im vastly oversimplifying it of course since its a very long and complicated game
our session took about 600 hours to complete
that being roughly 25 days
it makes a little more sense when youre actually playing it
so yeah under normal circumstances the black king is indeed the final boss
then once you beat him the Vast Croak happens
and the new universe is created :)
Wait but math no what happened my brain hurts why.
the tags pile doesnt stop from getting taller 8^y
i should emphasize that the universe created isnt just a game construct but a real universe with its own inhabitants
and if all goes as planned the ultimate reward for the players is to depart from the medium and enter their nascent universe as its gods
that didnt happen in our session of course but its the general idea
That's super unfortunate. I mean, I know that feel. But it's still unfortunate. :/

And now, to comment on the actual journal:]
It's just a little harmless singing, Shiki. Unless you're talking about preparing your ears for all the terrible singing that's to come.
[Protip: he's not talking about himself.
Protip x2: he's totally one of those terrible singers and doesn't even know it]
