It turns out Crowley is a touch more upset about Jilly leaving than he's let on, and so is making everyone else suffer for of it. He might be hanging around the crime scenes, too. With earplugs in.

[He knows. If anyone could tell what the demon were really feeling, it was Aziraphale, and likewise the other way - though, for simple virtue of what he was, Aziraphale was showing some of his upset.]
