[And yet here he is digging through the spaces in his chair because he's bored out of his mind. He straightens and waves his hands in a shooing sort of motion.]

[ He doesn't, instead making himself a little more comfortable. ]

[He just... glares stubbornly for a few seconds.]

[He flings the bottom cushion on the floor with the others (a little overdramatically) and starts digging through the extra spaces. GRUMP GRUMP GRUMP.

He's totes going to let something boil over on the stove today out of spite.]

[ Grump away good sir, John's going to fix up the couch after putting his laptop down somewhere safe.

Do that and he'll make you clean it up. ]

[He twists himself around so he's sitting in the chair with his feet under him, and glares at the opposite wall.]

Need to localize my search more. Clearly it's done a good job hiding it.

You know I could help if you told me what you're looking for.

[It comes out a bit terse, but there's no sarcasm there, just a bland statement of fact. It's frustrating, not being able to share with John of all people -- more so than his loss is already.]

[ With the couch fixed he turns to face him. He's sympathetic, he can see how frustrated it makes Sherlock. It frustrates him that there is nothing either of them can do about it.

He shoots him an apologetic look and glances about the room. ]

We'll find it. [ Whatever it is. Surely he'll figure out whatever it is eventually. ]

[He's silent for a few seconds longer, staring into space, fingers drumming on the arms of the chair....

Then he gets up abruptly and goes into the kitchen without another word. THE GAME IS ON????]

[ Well then! John just raises an eyebrow, following him with his gaze.

Don't hurt the toaster. ]

Right now he's banging through cabinets, rapidly, rattling around the dishes as he does so.]

Keep looking in there, John, it's still the most likely place it'll be.

Be careful! [ He doesn't really want to wish for a new set of dishes, thanks. ]

Right, looking. [ A bit aimlessly mind you. ]

You'll know it when you see it! [clang clang clang] Check the stack of books by the window.

I mean it Sherlock, be careful with the dishes! [ To the stack of books he goes, carefully sorting through the stack. ] It's not here.

Dishes, dishes. That's hardly the most important thing right now, is it?

They are. [ He should know how much John isn't all that fond of the wishing thing. ]

[Okay, yes, but that's a dumb hang up and he should get over it. WISHING IS FUN.]

Might be a good thing to break a few. They take up too much cabinet space.

[But the rattling does get a little less....... violent.]

Don't. [ Is all Sherlock's getting in return as he moves about in his search, picking up and replacing things when he doesn't find whatever it is he is supposed to be looking for. ]
