18 - fury of the night - backdated to forever (and also 4/6) - closed
[On the side of the road not too far from the city, there's a small field of tall grass. Some of the grass is bent and crushed into the earth, and there's a little bit of loose dirt everywhere. And just before that bit of bent grass, a perfect and obvious sign if there ever was one, is a failed Ultraball, laying ajar on the ground. Along that trail, there are a few more failed Ultraballs-- a Great Ball, even-- and at the end of that trail lay a wounded Salamence.
He looks pretty beat up-- there are bunches of bruises and countless small cuts, His wings are torn, and his claws are chipped, but at least with his reddened jaw and teeth, it can be said he put up a good fight. The grass and dirt both show he'd tried his earnest to get to the forest, even though he'd had to drag his feet. He'd been lying silently, and was fortuitous not to have attracted any more attention.
He can hear the tall grass rustling, and pauses, listening carefully, lifting his head slightly. It wasn't the light brushing past of smaller pokémon native to this area, but was the distinct footfalls of something a decent size. The dragon-type narrows its eyes a bit, watching as the blades of grass part, a small, steady growl rising out of him.
It was headed right for him.]

[It's a weak response, for sure. His head feels pretty heavy, but he keeps it up anyway, looking at the fire-type.]

He gets a quick nuzzle even as she casts an eye over the damage.]
'Twould be safer further in the woods. The trail is obvious enough for a blind pony to follow.

She begins (carefully) kicking the shiny, reflective pokeballs further into the grass, trying to erase some of the trail. Too bad the big dragon at the end of it is kinda glaring.]
Stay low and hidden, and I shall return shortly. Any humans on thy trail will have a wild goose chase to contend with. [there's a flick of that pretty blue tail, and then she darts off. Being one of the fastest pokemon around has its perks.]

But when she stumbles across the pokeballs... No, Ultraballs... She's worried. Though she knows how injured Pokemon can react, if there is one, she can't just leave them there untreated. It goes against everything she knows. And if there's just one thing she's always been good at (even if she doesn't know where she got the skill from), it's tracking down Pokemon.
The trail, though confusing at times because some Pokemon is obviously trying to hide it, is still enough for her to follow. After getting turned around a few times, that is.]

He closes his eyes, and blacks out.]

He opts to stay in place, waiting to see what will come. Attempting to leave would only attract more attention to him, and drain precious energy that could be used fending off his next opponent. And if he didn't attract attention, there was a slight chance they wouldn't find him at all.
He wasn't counting on it, however. He watches, and waits.]

Slowly, she raises her hands in a peaceful gesture.]
I...I don't have any Pokeballs. So, um, are you hurt?

Nevertheless, Hinata gets a nod and then she starts trotting towards Toothless.]

He seems to visibly relax; he was quite spooked there for a moment.]

But still... The possibility of a hurt Pokemon is enough for her to gather what remains of her courage and follow.
...Only she recognizes that Salamence.]

She nickers a greeting at Toothless and then glances uncertainly at Hinata. What do?]
I LOVE YOU GUYS.......... SO MUCH................. (sorrysorrysorry sob)
And if he made an err in calculation, he trusted that Luna could protect him.
When he feels a sharp sting of pain ripple through his body, a soft growl comes out of him as he winces. He's too prideful to lower his head, even in a situation like this, but dang is it hard to keep this head up. (And on such a long neck, too!)]

[She rushes forward and kneels near him. She hesitates to touch him for just a moment, remembering their meeting only a few days prior and...some other memories she can't entirely remember stay her hand.]

Oh man. It's just about as bad as the aftermath with Red Death.]

It'll be OK. Just with some berries an-and...some treatment you'll be OK.
[But berries and bandages she doesn't have on her--she never quite gathered any before stumbling across them. She moves one of her hands to her pockets, feeling around for something she might have on-hand.]
