Ah, the life of a single parent! I do not suppose there are many ladies out there who would find an unwed father particularly appealing. [For those more inclined to encounter Yuuya in person (or birdson), he is doing his very best to sunbathe luxuriously with his new Budew on the castle grounds.

Lucky the Pokemon is so small and also not really mobile - anything larger would be running circles around Yuuya. Nevertheless, if natures were easily transferable, this Budew would be Naughty. Every time it gets up to go exploring, Yuuya leaves his sunbath to track it down, herding it back with a buffet of his wings.

As he ruffles himself out for another attempt at leisure and glorious sunshine, Yuuya closes his eyes and calls to the open book:]

To this Budew! It came along with me; I could not orphan it! I'm not a deadbeat.

I had named it Buddy, but then I thought, perhaps it might be a girl...

Is it a Pokemon?

It is. She is. We developed quite a rapport while we were adventuring together. Quite a hellion, though, I'm afraid. She certainly didn't get that from me.

How does a bird take care of a Pokemon...?

With great trial and error, so far.

She's little, though. I think she must be just a baby. Anyway, I can carry her with ease - my masculine strengths at work!

[ A pause... then she laughs a bit. ]

It's very kind of you to take care of her. Some people didn't want their Pokemon.

I was very happy to meet Eevee, even if it was for a short time. That world was fun! Did you have fun there?

I did! I lived as a mammal for an entire week, and Buddy here and I were competitors to be reckoned with in those lovely contests.

...I'm not even sure I understood the rules fully, but then, judges love the renegade.

I heard about those contests. What were they about?

They were a bit complicated!

But what it seemed to be was that we'd preen ourselves up a bit, with accessories and the like. Then they would make their grandest debut on stage, performing for all of the judges! Buddy was a natural, of course. [She takes after her father.] I could not tell you exactly how they scored everything, but I believe cuteness was quite important.

There you have it! Much less dangerous than all that battling hype! I'm a lover, not a fighter, Miss Takamura.

That sounds like it was a lot of fun! Eevee was super cute, too. Maybe I should have entered it...

It was golden! We would have had a fierce rivalry if you had entered. A battle for the ages. I'm a very serious competitor, you see.

I don't doubt you'll meet again, here or there. Maybe then! Who knows?
