[Private]
Look, Paradisa. I'll level with you. If you clue me in as to what my loss is this time around, I'll let you do something ridiculous like, oh I don't know, turn me into a cat. Or make it so I can only speak pig latin. It's gotta be better than constantly wondering what piece is missing this time.
[a huff] At least you knew what not to take.
[And with that, he shuts his journal and decides it's time to take a stroll outside.]
[Not too long after, night owls might catch a glimpse of something large and canine darting off into the distance, or they might hear the long howling of a lone wolf.
It's been a while since he's had a good run, and what better way to rid himself of frustrations than to go wild for a little while? He seems to be enjoying himself as he darts around toward a thick of trees.
He's not too worried about running into anyone at this hour, but one should never underestimate the curiosity of fellow residents.]
(ooc: feel free to run into the wolfboy wherever he may be as he runs around. just state where!)

out in the woods, slightly toward the city
Stopping along the way, she waited for his white form to come barreling up the pathway, paws thudding and tongue lolling out. She smiled, lips closed, as he brushed right by her, huffing as he passed and checking over his shoulder to make sure she wasn't truly staying put.
She waited a moment, letting him take lead again, before setting off at a run. He'd be faster than her without augmentation, and for now she let that guide their pace. When he disappeared into the forest, a flash of white she couldn't see if she could still hear, then she changed speeds. Normal human speed picked up to the blur of movement that was shinobi movement, pushing off the ground and using trees as springboards to launch ahead of her retriever-pyrenese as he raced down the deer trail.
She touched down again by Scooter's side, pacing with him until they entered into a partial clearing. Then she bent and shouldered into him, taking the both of them into a tumble that left him winded and squirming, her laughing in that hiccuping silence before he deigned to shake off and come around, licking at her face.
Sakura had missed her big, stupid mutt. She wrapped an arm around his ruff, pulling him close to rest her head against his. He was panting out of exertion, ears perking up as he strained to listen to the forest around them. Scooter was more paranoid than ever that something was going to take her away from him. Third time might be the never sees her again charm. ]
Wolf bros unite? =3 Out in the woods, obviously.

It isn't until he can pick up the scent of a human that his curiosity is piqued, but just slightly. He doesn't recognize the scent--he wouldn't, as he'd been just a mere human during his first encounter with Sakura--but it's curious how silent they are. There isn't so much as a call or a whistle to the other beast.
He's stalked enough vampires through the woods of Washington to know how to keep his steps light, but there's still the cracking of twigs and rustling of leaves every so often as he gets just a bit closer to the pair. He can't see them just yet, but their scent is getting stronger. He only wants a peek, and then he'll be off. He swears it.]
o/
He's not sure if he wants to avoid the other wolf or follow it. For now, he does his best to keep his distance, coming to a stop for a quick rest. His ears perk, trying to get a feel for where the other is headed.]
In the woods...
So he was out in his stag form again, went he smelt wolf. Again. Trotting off in that direction, he wondered how many wolves were here.]

He didn't like them being out in the open. Sakura knew better, knew that danger was a game Paradisa invented, but she couldn't quite make herself care. She'd run across Deathwing for the first time in these woods, a massive, preposterous dragon, Death incarnate, and refused to back down. Had healed him, even.
Her eyes opened, following Scooter's attention as he tensed, watching something she couldn't make out, and she acknowledged that she didn't make the wisest decisions. Not that it was news.
But it felt simpler out here, away from the city, away from the castle, to try and understand the conglomeration of good and bad decisions across three different lives vying for dominance in her mind.
She rose to her feet quietly, watching the shadows with Scooter at her side. She could feel him want to growl, felt it starting in his chest, and nudged him with her knee.
Quiet. If it came down to a scuffle, she'd be protecting him. Sakura knew she'd come back.
Scooter wouldn't.
Taking a half step in front of her dog, protective, she waited to see if whatever's got Scooter tense will pass without comment. ]
hahaha. in the forest? /couldn't resist
but then he hears that rustle in the leaves, and goes still. out here, in a forest he's still largely unfamiliar with? it could be anything]

Aside from that, the fact that Paradisa has so little wildlife has him curious at this point.
His eyes scan around the thick of trees, looking for signs of the stag. When it finally comes into sight, seeing it a short distance away, he makes certain to stop his approach before he can startle.]

Normally, he tries to keep a safe, not-so-startling distance from humans so as not to frighten them. It doesn't quite work out this time, and as he passes through a thick of trees, he finds himself mere feet away from this human.
And he freezes in place.]

Slowly, he allows himself to peer his head out from behind a tree. It's a humorous sight for anyone looking on. Wolves are not known for being very timid, but it almost looks as if he's being shy about it.
He's rather surprised by what he sees. He knows her and part of him feels like relaxing knowing that it's only Sakura. But she doesn't know him as this, and he isn't exactly sure how she would handle the knowledge.]

He continued to sniff and look around for the new wolf but his senses weren't really helping him much.]

for the moment, it's just a stalemate, most likely, as they watch each other. your move, Jacob]

The timid, large one peering around a tree.
She feels Scooter at her thigh, shifts enough to let her hand wind into his ruff and hold him steady while she watches their watcher. She waits, though with no further move on the wolf's part, her shoulders will relax. Scooter starts to growl, but the tightening of her fingers keeps him quiet.
Then she lets go, trusting her dog to behave and watch her for appropriate signals. Sakura cants her head to the side, keeping her teeth from being exposed.
Then she clucks her tongue. Wolf! Or not-wolf? She's not sure. Strange thing shave wandered these woods. Until there was a reason to presume danger, she wouldn't make herself the threatening target. She had more confidence in her ability than needless worry at what might happen.
She leaves her hands at her sides, slowly turning them to display empty palms toward the wolf.
Hey there, big guy. ]
