[dictated. he's a little quiet, but that might be because he sounds like he's in a library or something--otherwise sounding perfectly smarmy and collected as usual.]

Here's something I wonder.

Let's say that someone finally finds that fabled "way out of Paradisa". They're able to share this with the rest of the residents without being immediately magicked away or vanishing under mysterious circumstances. But it's discovered in such a way that makes a certain catch known--it's all or nothing. Everyone goes back to their own realities, or everyone stays right where they are.

Who would rather leave, knowing that many here have nothing but death or misery to return to? Who would rather refuse, knowing that some have been trying to return to their lives and loved ones for years?

[but that's awfully personal. that's heavy. let's take it back a step.]

Though I know questions of morality are awfully open-ended. This is just thinking. What I'm really curious about is this: if the residents here, now, were presented with such an option, what do you think would happen? How would the situation be handled--if it's really handled at all?

[Oh hi Zelman, he'll actually answer!]

As much as I wish to go home, I'd be...unwilling to sacrifice the lives of others in order to do so. So I would choose to stay here and hope to find another way, one that lets people to choose to stay here or go home as they wish.

[...]

I don't know how others would handle the situation though. I'd hope others would feel the same way, but...it's very hard to gauge people's desires.

None of us belong here. We may only hope that what should be shall be. And I have also certain obligations- duties that must come before all else.

That's decidedly hypothetical of you. Have you been drinking or something?

[She's not answering that question yet, nope]

[A distinct clapping sound can be heard.]

Bravo...Somebody finally asks the question that everybody else seems afraid to ask.

It's like the woman said. We don't belong here.

[ Her true reasons she keeps to herself. ]

Should have known.

So, what's with the question? Have you actually found a way out?

Spoilsport.

[She has a considerate pause] This is harder to answer if you're not sure if you want to stay or go any more.

[ Her father's memory comes forcefully to the surface. She swallows before answering. ]

The dead are dead. There's no magic can take that away.

It certainly hasn't crossed the minds of those who bother with trivial matters like fitting the kitchen with a lemonade tap or getting married here.

I mean it’s almost like they're asking the castle to break their hearts and send their beloved home on a whim.

If I could, yes.

I know it's idealistic and probably unrealistic, but it's still something I wish to stand by.
