It's recently come to me that I'll never be afforded the opportunity to go to college if I ever am returned home. I never had the time to really think what that means, but it doesn't sit well with me. So here's a list of things I'd like to learn. If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it.

Any sort of physics.
Mechanical Engineering.
Any Engineering, though Mechanical seems to be where I thrive.
History - any, particularly Earth, but I'd like to learn about any culture.
Science. I decided to broaden from just physics - especially if there's chemical engineering. I've dabbled with bio-chemistry here as well, building medical equipment.
-Genetics would be interesting.
Combat skills, particularly hand to hand. Not that this is something collegiate, but it would be helpful.

I think that's it, but if there's anything along these lines that could help, I'd be interested.

[Dr. Temperance Brennan]

I'm done. Finally finished. Both pieces are usable now.

Perhaps I could be of help with certain aspects of History. I read extensively, and I am rather fond of various branches of Science as well, although I cannot claim to be an expert.

Do you know what kind of combat technique you want to learn, or do you just want to start by trying a little of everything?

I believe I could help you in just about any of those fields, my dear, if you'd like. I was once called the Professor, after all. [He laughs]

Damn, that's quite a list.

Genetics, aye?

I'm a geneticist, and I know of one other doctor who is, too. I'm sure we'll be able to help out.

That is very good news.

Have you tested the equipment yet?
longaevus: (with [ it was then ])

[personal profile] longaevus 2012-01-20 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
How far into bio-chemistry have you ventured?
atadiscoverer: (happy)

[personal profile] atadiscoverer 2012-01-20 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I'm sure we'll be able to help fill the gaps.

Hm. That is a good question. I am particularly interested in Ancient Chinese, Japanese and Indian history, personally. Though relatively recent, I am quite versed in the history of the Anglophone Caribbean - the West Indies, if you may - and I've taken many a trip around Europe as well. I find many branches of biological and chemical sciences to be quite interesting, particularly Evolutionary Biology. Even though considered a pseudo-science by many, I've been recently a bit fascinated by the concept of Eugenics. Even though I am not particularly fond of metaphysical studies, it was almost necessary at one point to dabble in that a bit, as well.

I'm sure you will.

I'm Dr. Carson Beckett. We'll be earning you your Ph.D in no time, I don't doubt.

I suppose you're right.

But, still, not stopping us trying, aye?
cantacquityou: (bored)

[personal profile] cantacquityou 2012-01-20 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
As for pseudo-science, I was referring to Eugenics.

There is such equipment in the clinic.

I can assist with testing the x-ray machine if we can carefully transport it to the laboratory. I would prefer not to move bone around the castle.

And I would like to hear more about this analysis equipment.
gunslinger: (untamed me)

No arguments here. Makes one wonder what your interests were at home, though.
