[Katara has never had issue with the beds in Paradisa. They were warm, comfortable, but as snug and content as she is in the blankets, she can sense that there’s something maybe just a little off. There’s pressure against her arm and side - something is cuddling her.

Momo isn’t in Paradisa. So what in the world —

She shifts just a little, groggily opening her eyes and looking to the side.

Oh. It was Joshua.

Joshua was cuddling her. Of course.]

[Katara flings herself back, knocking her journal off of the bedside table — and this is where it begins transmitting. She screams.]

What are you doing in my room? What are you doing in my bed? [Her voice just gets shriller and shriller.] Out, out, out, out, out!

[ And while anyone listening might expect just as loud of a reaction (After all this is a rather commonplace scenario here, isn't it?) from whoever is invading the poor girl's bed, instead there's just a soft grunt of irritation. He's half-asleep and not placing the voice, but the shriek sure sounds familiar. He mutters groggily, ]

Huh, Langley...?

Joshua?!

[Another shuffling sound, and the sound abruptly stops as Katara scoops the journal off the floor.]

If I woke up in your room, I certainly wouldn't be rolling around in your bed.

[Joshua. You are wigging her out a little, bro.]

Just - please stay out of my bed? It's making me uncomfortable. We can make something to eat.

Well if you did, I'd tell you to stop rolling around. That's a supposed to be a mutual activity.

[ She probably won't even get that, but who cares. Wish a shrug, he grudgingly rolls out of the bed. ]

Fine. But that means you cook. I don't cook.

[A mutual..?

She shoots him a frown, but at least he's out of her damn bed.]

Okay, fine. I'll cook, but you're still going to have to help me.

[ You may be saying words, Katara, but they don't mean anything. So he's going to instead sit at the little table and rest his head there. Yaaawn. ]

[She snaps her fingers at him.]

I need you to crack some eggs into a bowl.

You can't crack eggs on your own? You're never going to find a husband.

That's me: poor, spinster Katara.

Eggs, please.

[ With a sigh, he gets up and walks over, then stares at the layout. What is this.

Taking an egg, he pretty much...smashes it into the side of the bowl, shell and all. Oh well, it's not like he expected any differently. He's never had to cook before. ]

.. quit sulking and just crack the eggs.

[She thinks he's just being spiteful. :T]

I'm not sulking. Someone else always does this.

You really don't know how to crack an egg?

[ The fact that this time he's just trying to pull it apart should speak bounds. The result isn't any less messy. HIS JAMMIES. B( ]

This is your fault, because you can't act like a proper woman for five minutes and make me some breakfast.

Me being a woman doesn't obligate me to cook food for you. Look. Watch. You do it like this.

[She demonstrates.]

See, there you go! Good job. Just like the proper, sweet girl I'm sure you are deep down.

[ He slaps her on the back...gently, since she's way tiny next to him. What is she wearing, anyway? It's not exactly flattering.

Oh wait he still has egg on his hand. ]

[Katara's wearing a sweater and - are those sweatpants? These clothes are really weird, but they've grown on her in the past few months. She isn't going for flattering, bro.

She's going to bristle when she realizes there's egg goop on her back.]

No - now you try. Your turn.

[Handing him an egg.]

[ With a shrug, he takes the egg and tries again. It's a mediocre job, with...pieces of shell still mixed in.

And yet he's proud. ]

Hah, I did it!

[... well, it's not like they're going to run out of eggs.]

Good job. Now try one more time, with a new bowl.

I don't know where the bowls are.

[ And do you want him touching things with these hands... ]

[She'll clean it up. It's not like she can leave the stupid room.

With a shrug, she retrieves another bowl, plunking it in front of him.]

Go wild.

[ Katara possibly shouldn't have said that. Because now he's going to crack like the whole carton of eggs. Some attempts are more successful than others... In general, though, he seems to be genuinely enjoying himself.

He'll even hum, since that's what people do in the kitchen, right? Well, maybe Fiore and Legato didn't... But women in films do! ]

[And when Josh manages to crack what a bowl full of mostly shell-less egg, Katara will snatch it away from him, tipping it into the frying pan. There's something kind of somber about her expression as she pushes the goop around on the pan.]

.. you have a nice voice. You should spend more time singing and less time being such a brat.

[ He stops, looking disappointed at having his new toy taken away from him. Looking over at her, he considers smashing one more egg into her hair. But then she might not continue making breakfast. ]

You should spend more time being a lady and less time being a shrew.

But, Joshua..

[She flips the eggs and fixes him with a look.]

I thought my lip quivered when I was angry.

[Is this really happening.]

[ Is she going to play chicken with him? Because she'll lose. He just raises an eyebrow at her first while rinsing off his hands at the sink. ]

That's right.

[ That's right, that's right. Remind him of the time you threw water on him and then left him to freeze outside, Katara.

Stepping over to her, he makes sure to keep an eye on that pan and spatula in his peripheral vision while leaning down to whisper against her ear, voice husky. ]

It does.

[She flushes scarlet, throwing her hand up and shoving his shoulder as she simultaneously propels herself backwards. Okay, no no no, if she could avoid doing that again, that would be great.]

Okay! You win! Agh, just — stay back.
