second glitch

[anyone listening to the journal today might pick up a very steady, consistent sound, almost like a metronome:

flip.
flip.
flip.
flip.

at odd intervals, there'll be a soft thud, a scrape, and then the flipping continues. anyone who ventures onto the second floor of the library will find the source of the sound: CLU seated at a table, behind a MASSIVE pile of books. there's a tall glass of some sort of glowing, blue liquid off to one side, but other than that, it's just him and the books.

to the uninitiated, it'll look like he's not even reading. he just turns a page, blinks, and repeats the process ad nauseam. but he's definitely reading, scanning each page and its contents quickly before moving on. occasionally, if a spread is dense with text, or a concept it details is completely foreign to him, he'll pause a moment before turning the page. but for the most part, he just. keeps. going. after he finishes one book in particular, he stops, and scowls down at the journal]

[he's careful to keep his tone light, though, because That Is How You Make Friends And Influence People.] These are the most inefficient systems. I don't see how any of you can cope. Don't you get impatient?

That was before I had the privilege of meeting him. I didn't know, and I didn't cause them.

You're just like the MCP you tried to get rid of.

I'm sure he'd be more than willing to fix it for you.

Because Kevin's my friend. And because of what you did to Tron.

It's my responsibility to make sure the code you corrupted is fixed.

[We'll see about that. He did it once, CLU, he can do it again!]

Have you ever heard of "entropy", CLU?

For all intents and purposes, it's complete disorder. Every atom equidistant from each other - every program equidistant from each other, like those lines of soldiers and programs afraid to associate with each other. [That's right. He's seen.]

Basically, it looks like your version of the Grid. Your perfection isn't possible.

The concept is the same.

Cute. But it's more a problem of your methods than any ability of mine.

[He didn't get his answer and this conversation is going nowhere, only serving to make him more frustrated. He's about ready to wrap this up.]

Leave the Flynns alone. Leave Tron alone.

[He knows you well enough to clarify once he hears that chuckle, CLU.]

And by 'Tron', I mean Rinzler.

He's done enough.

There's no way for you to reprogram Users to submit to you. We don't have code.

We're not helpless against you. [And unlike Flynn, some Users very well can blame you for grossly overstepping your directive, CLU.]

That works both ways.
