[It's been a... While since Jade's made any public posts. Lacking a voice made him less inclined to work for public broadcasts that he avoided in the first place.
This, plus all the wandering and exploring Jade had done made him tired, leaving him little choice but to take a bit of a rest in his room. After managing to change the room around a bit more with the castle's help, Jade found himself bored. this led Jade to wishing himself up some materials to experiment with. Given that Jade was short some spells without his voice, something with a little punch would help in an emergency.
The first thing that came to mind was a distraction of sorts. Something to stun the enemy or let Jade get a strategic advantage. A small flashbang would do that like a charm. Small, simple; something he could carry in his pocket. Almost like a party favor but with a bit more kick.
Unfortunately, the one Jade knew how to make was created from a specific Fonim from his world. A rock-like material that, when ground up and struck, would create a bright flash, generally used for distractions. Jade knew the combination by heart, having created it on a whim a few times and using them multiple times while training new recruits. Watching their reactions the first time always made Jade crack a smile.
However, since Jade didn't know the translation from the fonic language, there was a bit of miscommunication. Instead of the fonim, Jade wound up with a low-grade explosive power.
There was indeed a flash.
Then an explosion.
Small, but enough to effectively send Jade into a wall with the force of it and blow out his window into the yard below. Aside from a few cuts and scrapes all over and his uniform being slightly torn up, Jade's glasses had cracked and one of his eyebrows was missing. He also found his journal singed, but useful and wrote in it.]
'I appear to have failed in a small experiment. Since I'd like to not bother the clinic people with a small thing such as this, could I trouble a healer to assist me for a moment.'
((OOC feel free to react over the journal or in person if you're around his room!))

'A minor accident.'

She takes in Jade's appearance as well as the room.
There's a wry smile.] Only a minor accident? Does this happen often?
no subject
'Often enough.'
no subject
Dost thou need any help?
no subject
'I think I need a bit of help getting up and moving to a table to find a better seat.'

She turns back to him and offers him a hoof up.] Unless thou believes that floating thee over would be easier.
[pride can be a finicky thing]

'Your magic. Does it have limits..?'

[idly examining the epicenter of the explosion]

[Jade grabbed a cloth from a drawer and dabbed at the few wounds on his face.
Where the explosion had actually happened, there was a large, splattered dark mark and pieces of the table. Glass, some liquids and powder were scattered about and some other items of the room had been overturned by the force.]

[and those pieces float on over to the table and then seamlessly reattach themselves.]

[Jade watched them curiously as they were put back together, though he did take the time to toss his gloves off.]

[so casual. What, celestial bodies that move on their own? Don't be ridiculous.]

[Whether he's being sarcastic or not is unknown.]

[bringing up a hoof to just above her eye, grinning a little] Can I assume that thou didst not intend to make thyself more roguish?
no subject
'An unfortunate, but amusing consequence.'
[Roguish. That's a funny way to put it but Jade'll take it.]

[curious, curious]

Thy quarters seem to be an inadequate place to test explosives of any kind.

[A pause.]
'Come to think of it, I wasn't a fan of that window.'
