003 - [Dictated! or action @ MacManus headquarters, aka: the church.]
Well met, Paradisa. I've a question or two of ye.
I'm going t'be opening a leather shop in the business district. I specialize in jackets and clothing, packs an' bags, a bit of bookbinding, and whatever else ye can think of.
I'm looking for an assistant, perhaps a second if I need it. Dinnae have t'be skilled, though I'd like someone who'd be willin' t'learn. If yer a woodworker or whatnot, speak up. I can use anyone who might be a boon to th' shop. I'm a lovely bloke t'work for. Just ask my sons.
[Smile]
I can do some woodwork as well, though it's more of a carving sort'a thing, not buildin' furniture.
Lastly, is there anyone sellin' leather, raw or tanned?
Otherwise, what's the worst thing that's happened to ye since you've been here?

[The very thought that it could worries him. Thank God he's on sacred ground.
[Hopefully that counts for something in Paradisa.]
Action!
How y'feelin', Da? Need anythin'?
action forever
[Noah isn't smiling, but he looks pleased. It's something one learns to pick up on when being around him for any amount of time. When he'd first arrived, he was tired more often than not, and he stayed in his room a great deal of the time. The church did, and is doing, wonders for his mood and his health. The boon of having his boys around goes without saying.
[But he's still the same man, and he's prone to long periods of quiet and solitude. Right now isn't one of them.]
I was plannin' on helpin' you two out around here. Done enough sittin' on my arse.

[He sits down, holding out a cup of tea for his father. It was comforting to have him down in the town with them instead of up in the castle. Their father's too strong and stubborn to be kept down for very long.]
We're glad t'have y'here, Da. We've got a few things need doin'. Mostly expandin' th'armory in th'basement. Makin' sure it's secure.

[Noah nods and accepts the cup, takes a sip of the dark brew.]
I havenae gone down there yet. Let's go down an' have a look, mm?

Arrite. C'mon, I'll show ya what we've got so far. Father Tres has gotten us pretty well set up.
[He stands, looking around]
Who knows, maybe we'll find my lazy ass brother hangin' 'bout somewhere.

[Robot priest, he's still trying to get his head around that one.]
This place... this world gives me a headache sometimes, it does.
[Noah follows his son, keeping pace easily. Days ago he'd have had to sit down at least once.]

[He looks over at his father, nodding] Aye. [he smirks, chuckling] Murph an' I gave up judgin' people based on first impressions fer Lent. Made things a hell've a lot easier.

[Basement! Or just the stairs.]
I believe I spoke to th' cardinal, round about Easter. Seemed a decent sort. How well do ya know her?
[Do they trust her? And, most importantly, why? It's difficult to gain Noah's trust.]

[He keeps an eye on his father as they walk down the stairs. Wouldn't do to have him fall, after all.]
Fairly well, I think. She came to th'church an' told us 'bout what she does back home. When we heard how close it was t'what we do, Murph an' I told 'er 'bout us.

[A bit concerned. He'd taken a shine to Eunice, and hoped she was getting on all right.]
[Noah's taking the stairs just fine. For a man his age, he's healed very well. The residual pain and weakness was tolerable, a far cry from when he'd first appeared.]
A hunter, then. Mm. I'd like t'know what sorts she has in her sights.

[He sighs softly]
Far's th'Cardinal... She came t'us askin' if we'd be willin' t'put an amrory in th'church t'help protect th'castle. When we told 'er 'bout our mission she told us that back home she used t'help someone keep th'world safe from a group that was tryin' t'end it.

Smecker's a slick lad, sure enough. He'll be fine.
[Reaching the bottom of the stairs, he paused. The mention of a 'group' was close to home for him. He'd spent over half his life trying to wipe out the city's own cancerous families.]
I hope for the right reasons, and not strictly for the Church.
[The Catholic Church, well. There were good and bad within it's walls, and Noah didn't trust all their motives. He believed in God, in right and wrong, but the organization itself could put his teeth on edge.]

I believe she's doin' what she feels's right. Tryin' t'keep th'world safe.

We all do what we must. Good to have more on our side.
[He looks around, taking the room in.]
Show me what ye've been up to.
