I've been gathering some data and hope everyone is willing to help me. For those of you who have people here from your world, did you all know each other before coming to Paradisa? Is there anyone who found out they were from the same world as someone else, but otherwise found no connection?

I've noticed that every person who has come from my world is someone I either personally knew, encountered at one point, or knew through friends. I'd like to know if other people have experienced the same thing.

I only know of one other person from my world and I have met him before. If there is anyone else, I am not aware of them. [Actually, she has spoken to multiple other people from her world. She just aware that they're from her world, like she said.]

Having a familiar face is always nice in a place like this. I wonder if that's why the castle brings our friends here?

[chancing]

The castle does seem to be very generous in many respects so it would not be very hard to believe that that is true. I know I would have a much harder time adjusting here without him.

How long have you been in Paradisa?

[chancing]

Not very long. It has only been a little over a month.

[courageous_wit]

Is there anything you like about it, aside from the familiar face?

[chancing]

The technology. Most, if not all of it, is nonexistent in my time and it has made things much more interesting than they would be at home.

[courageous_wit]

[heh] The poor microwave has certainly been through a lot here.

So I have heard. I've done my best to keep any metals out of it do that it does not have to go through any more.

[courageous_wit]

That's very considerate of you. If you do find you need any help with the technology, I would be glad to do so. I'm used to explaining it back home.

[chancing]

Why would you have to explain it at your hike? Is this technology not common where you are from?

[courageous_wit]

Oh, it is, but not everyone uses it. The people I interact with are very unfamiliar with technology. They'd be among those puzzled by the microwave.

I cannot imagine having this technology available and not using it. It makes everything much easier. What type of people do you interact with?

Witches and wizards. They don't use the technology because they use magic instead.

[chancing]

Witches... and wizards. I suppose if the stories I have heard about them are true then there really wouldn't be a need for then to use technology of any sort.

[courageous_wit]

I don't know if the stories you heard are true; non-magical people tend to get it wrong. But you're right, there is no need.

[chancing]

I will assume that they are indeed wrong, then. Most stories I have heard have related them to the Devil.

Yes, that's a fairly common misconception.

[chancing]

Why do witches and wizards not make more of an effort to clear up the misconceptions about them?

[courageous_wit]

Because laws were put into place keeping the wizard world separate. And I think wizards prefer it that way. Maybe after the war we'll find a way to co-exist with each other.

[chancing]

War?

[courageous_wit]

Yes, the wizard world is currently at war.

[chancing]

I assume it is a war contained within that world. A war between those who can use magic and those who cannot does not sound like it would be a very fair war at all.

[courageous_wit]

Unfortunately the opposing side has no problems with killing the non-magical.

I hope they also turn out to be the losing side.
