[Yesterday, Phoenix was a fish boy.
It had been an incredibly difficult day, fraught with attempts to get in and out of the bathtub, worry over what he could still eat, fighting to keep Edgeworth from turning him into sushi, and that bizarre little announcement he'd gotten from some crazy lady promising to make him human again. All in all, once he'd finally managed to go to sleep in the tub, he'd had no idea what to expect when he woke up the next morning.
Now that it is, in fact, the next morning, he's perturbed, to say the least. He is still curled up in the tub, but it's now completely dry (and his neck is ridiculously stiff from sleeping like that). After a short-lived panic about drying out, he finds that he's no longer a merman at all.
He is, however, decked out in a blue and white dress ensemble with a little red "tie" for added effect. His hair is now ridiculously long (though still sticking up in the back), and his attorney's badge has gone missing. To make all this infinitely worse than it already was, when he stands up, pain shoots from his feet up his legs, and when he makes as though to yell about it, he finds his voice is gone. Again.
So, he slowly makes his way out of the bathroom and toward Edgeworth's bedroom, feeling as though he's walking on glass and having no other viable solution but to go mime for help.]

Phoenix lurches for the door and flings it open, stumbling after Edgeworth with tears in his eyes. He'd likely be tripping over this dress already even without the added "bonus" of pain spiking through his lower body; together, the two ingredients are leading him to barely being able to move at all. He whistles for Edgeworth's attention.]

He mouths in silence, "I can't talk," then points to his legs as his lip trembles.]

...That hair. That God-forsaken hair sticking out at the back.
He suspected it. He didn't want to believe it before, but now it was rather obvious.]
...Wright?

[This castle has gone too far. He walks in closer to Lady Phoenix. He then does what any self-respecting prince would do and uses his cravat to dab away at the tears.

...Edgeworth's at a loss at what to do next. He stands there, unmoving, for several seconds before wrapping his arms around Phoenix's torso, patting ...him...her(?)...on the back comfortingly. He utters a familiar phrase Phoenix would have heard quite a few times in the past, be it out of sarcasm, snark, or one of those rare cases of genuine concern... which would be the case now.]
There, there, 'Mr.' Wright...

[He slips his fingers under his ankle and gently lifts his foot from the floor, placing it upon his lap for inspection. He uses a thumb and gently grazes it upon the underside of his foot, and begins to slowly and progressively apply pressure.]
