3rd Wrench [Dictated]

[Yeah, the castle was an impressive castle and all, but it just wasn't Jet's cup of tea. Something about it gave him the creeps.

There were a lot of things about home he missed. Being stationed at that old Martian dock was one of them. Having found an old shack near the lake, Jet decided that this was more to his liking. His room in the castle is vacant for the time being.

He sits on a dock on the lake, nearby the cottage he'd found. Opening his new journal, he speaks, talking to no one in particular, but whoever would be able to give him some information.]

Tell me some more about those pirate ships.

I've seen 'em once or twice.
Pricey.

Yeah, that's the best part - it was all free. And we didn't really have to deal with anything scary or anything, it was all parties and games and stuff. ... The other two ships, those were proper three-master old-school yo-ho-ho pirate ships, though. They got into fights with the Navy and stuff, and I think some people even got arrested. I remember hearin' something about a jailbreak ... but that was right before we hit the maelstrom.

[He listens, intrigued about the jailbreak.]

I heard I was involved. Or at least... the other me.

Before I came here, people already knew me. It's like I was here before, but I don't remember any of it.

Does that make any sense?

OH! Yeah! Yeah, that happens sometimes. People will leave, and go home, and get brought back ... but not remember that they'd been here before. I haven't known anyone it's happened to, really ... I didn't know you'd been here before.

But ... maybe you could filter to people that's happened to? They might be able to help you out.

I talked to quit a few people who remembered me when I got here. I'm not sure any of the others who were taken away and brought back would have any idea what I was talking about.

... They might? I mean, almost all the time, if someone comes back who's been gone, there's at least one person who remembers them. So they'd at least know what it's like to have people come up to you that you don't even know...
