ONE ☠ medusa entered the world only to know and inflict horror
[ When the woman rolls over, bare skin drinking in the rays of sun that had just started to peek in through a window, she’s not at all startled to feel a body next to her. Irma still wasn’t fully recovered, but that didn’t keep Echidna from enjoying their nights together, after so long...
But just as she starts to murmur something about dessert before breakfast, the Elf pauses, one arm draped around the slender waist of the form next to her. It takes less than a second for realization to hit her that it most certainly isn’t Irma; she can feel long hair reaching down to her thigh, and the hips she’s touching are not even close to the same. Had she wandered home with a random woman and forgotten? That was unlike her. ...The forgetting part.
Then another second passes, and recognition overwhelms her, already knowing who she’s going to see when she opens her eyes. No doubt the blonde is just one more second behind her in realization, and a grin spreads across Echidna’s features, lighting up her eyes with a tinted mirth. She ignores the nagging of unease deep down at the idea of this happening after so much time had passed...and her not recalling it. ]
[The other Elf grunted slightly as the sun slowly grazed across her face, signaling her to wake up. She went through her usual routine, squinting her eyes a bit and groaning. Her ears flicked as she noticed a warm presence against her. Wait, come on castle, you just dumped Galadriel on her a few weeks ago, it’s much too soon to do anything like this again.
Though the other person was much more...well, naked. And seemed to be latched onto her almost lovingly. She hesitated, heart racing a bit as she tensed up and opened her eyes, immediately turning her groggy look into one of fury.
And at once, she screamed.]
...YOU! How did YOU get here?
[With that, she bolted up, looking for her staff, not caring how naked she was at first.]
[ And Echidna’s quick to move after that, rolling away to stand nonchalantly on the other side of bed, though her gaze is watching Alleyne more carefully than her stance suggests. She expected the old woman to over-react, but she wasn’t going to start the day with a spear in her gut just for a little fun.
With a quick glance around and one hand on her hip, Echidna smiles again as a familiar form slithers down from one of the bed posts, coiling around her ankle before making his way up to wrap around her waist. Well, at least she hadn’t forgotten her best friend.
A little smirk once more tugging at her lips, she still remains ready to dodge any attacks, though her voice is as sultry and content as ever. ]
That is a very good question. I’ll answer it as soon as you tell me where ‘here’ is. This not not any room at the inn I’m staying at.
[ But she stops before she can continue on about Alleyne’s taste in décor, an odd sound pricking at her long ears. Echidna looks to a closed door next to the bathroom curiously, although her husky voice taking on a bored drawl. ]
Oh dear, did we awaken your little protégé?
...I don’t have any students with me right now; I’m not you, I don’t bed anything that...
[Wait, she turns to look at that door. Shit. That time of year again. She almost forgot.
A loud sigh escapes her lips as she bites on her thumb, looking for her clothes, speaking as bluntly as possible.]
Welcome to Paradisa, serpent. To celebrate, we’ve been made mothers. I hope you’re happy, tch.
[This is going to be the longest week of her life.]
[ ooc; Green is Echidna. Backdated to Sunday morning! And it's totally open over the journal. ]

[Oh gods, oh gods.
This is like waking up in her own worst nightmare. Maybe she died in her sleep and wound up in Hell. Wait, no, she still has her coffee machine. The castle just has the world's worst sense of timing.
Agh. She begins to get dressed and goes to check on the kid.]
...Oh lord, she's our kid alright. Looks just like someone who will remain nameless. This castle has the most twisted sense of humor I've ever known.
[She turns to the wall, as if to reprimand the castle itself]
This isn't funny at all!

Why is there a kid in there? And why is Alleyne yelling at things that aren't Echidna? Hm, these curiosities need to be considered. But she isn't following after her because nothing in that room interests her. A baby?
Finally, she calls out... ]
Now, Alleyne, I know you might be going senile in your old age, but I think you've forgotten how babies are made.

Although last night was certainly magical, I don't think even we could defy the laws of nature. Did you adopt and lose your memory? That might be going around...

She makes sure the brat's asleep still, standing guard over her and sighing, rubbing her head.]
In your dreams. And my nightmares. But shut up about that a minute and listen. We're not in Gainos. I said you're in Paradisa now. I've been here nigh sixteen months now. This place....does things.

Her smile is back, heavy-lidded eyes finding there way back over to Alleyne. Drawing out a sigh, and nodding as if all of that makes perfect sense, Echidna lifts a hand to touch a long fingernail just beneath her own chin, almost thoughtfully.
And despite all of that, she's poised to attack. ]
That's wonderful and all but... If you want to be with me so badly, you needn't use tricks like this to keep me in your room. All you have to do it ask...

Her tone drops half an octave. Muscles coiling. ]
No... Beg. On your knees. If you're finding it difficult, then I can make you...

[She picks up her staff in the corner and turns it at you, twirling it and snorting, body tensing, protecting the child's room at all costs.]
Step down. The castle will make you regret it if anything happens to her.

Then she laughs, fingertips flicking out in a dismissive nature as she seems to relax. The snake that was on her wrist only a moment ago is suddenly poised at Alleyne's ankle, fangs bared.
Why should she bother to fight fair, if she has a pet to fight dirty? ]
Now now, you're the one who had best stand down, old woman. You're so easy to distract when you're worried about someone else! It really is a curious, human trait of yours.
Whatever makes you think I'd have the slightest bit of interest in that child? Undo the spell. I don't know if you're under the Swamp Witch's thrall, or if someone sent you after Irma, but I don't have time for this right now.
[ The dangerous smile she's sporting hides a flicker of concern. Irma is still injured, and it wouldn't do to leave her unattended for too long. She hadn't planned on leaving her so soon. ]

[She'll just wait. She knows you, she knows you'll be there anyways to help. Poor elf sighs. She'll have to push Echidna out of the way before anyone sees her.]

That depends on how much fun you feel like having with a child in the room.

Ugh, children. Never mind. [this may be one of the best ways to get rid of her]

[ have a surprised yelp right back, as she wasn't expecting to hear that when she opened up her journal this morning. there's the distinct rustling of paper as she collects the book from the ground and talks into it. she sounds worried! ]
Is someone hurt? I hope not, but the scream..
no subject
Hurt? Not at all. That was a scream of joy.
