[Anyone looking for Sherlock today can find him outside by the duck pond. He has his journal open in his palm, but other than that he doesn't seem to be doing anything other than standing and watching.

Specifically, watching a little girl with dark, messy curls and her pants rolled to her knees splash around in the shallows.]

No points for creativity, yet again. Can't be blamed, though. It gets the job done, and there's something to be said for long term investment. [He sounds almost... impressed?] No reason to change a winning formula.

Those of you somehow surprised by this turn of events should pay better attention.

[There's an excited sort of shriek from somewhere far away, and Sherlock's voice gets fainter as he turns away from the journal.]

[ Kaito is trying to calm his racing heart. He doesn't need detectives looming over him. That's creepy. ]

That's easier said than done. You don't want to know the kind of trouble-making genes they've inherited.

[ There something in Sherlock's tone that Kaito really can't stand. It might just be because he's a rebellious teenager then again it could be because he is the infamous Kaitou Kid and would allow a detective to talk to him like that. Him the arrogant and audacious internationally wanted criminal. He looks up at Sherlock briefly, getting to his feet quickly and at the same time contemplating the best color to dye this guy's hair.... Let's see... judging by his appearance alone he just looks like a boring detective not unlike Hakuba and not unlike Kudo... maybe pink? ]

[ No... no that wouldn't do. He couldn't make enemies with a detective as Kuroba Kaito when he fully intends to put together a heist later-Too much of a chance he'd come knocking on the door accuses him of being Kaitou Kid.]

[ ...Actually... hadn't he proven time and time again there was no solid evidence that he was kid? Anything Hakuba had pinned him with had been circumstantial. Why not? It could be fun ]

[ He moves past Sherlock and goes to pick up the little girl who is giggling uncontrollably at something as is her brother. Nice to see they have his sense of humor. ]

Shh... [ He held a finger to his lips trying to keep the twins from giving away the special trick he had done in the time he had moved over to get his kids. ]

[Except your kids aren't the only ones here, bro, and Rachel claps her hands over her mouth to suppress her giggles, too.]

[She tugs on the sections of hair by her face to illustrate, and he looks up, through his fringe.

Then give your children to someone who can care for them properly. There have been plenty of offers over the journal, can't be that difficult to find someone. Unless you'd like them to drown themselves while you cling pointlessly to your childhood, in which case.... [He shrugs. He really doesn't care.

He gestures to his daughter.]

[She pouts. Blobs of water float idly up from the surface like she forgot to put them back.]

[ Okay that-that kind of stung. But Kaito isn't one to let his true feelings show so he'll merely shrug it off. ]

If it were that easy I'd gladly place them in more experienced hands than mine but the only person I would trust to keep up with these two died in a stage 'accident.'

[Rachel splashes out of the water and goes to fetch her shoes laying on the grass a few feet away.]

Suppose you're going to have to make a decision, then, aren't you?

[The little girl comes back with her shoes tucked under her arm and a few souvenirs from the pond clutched in her palm. She goes to slip her free hand into her father's -- his shoulders go a little stiff, uncomfortable, but he allows it.]

[ Takes a breath to calm his temper-he wasn't about to lose it he just wanted a clean slate. He sets his two kids down and takes their hand. ]
