I have to say, I for one am glad that another year has gone by and once again the Castle didn't try to burden me with a child. I'd say it was trying to respect my choices, but considering this is the Castle we're talking about, that's a laughable assumption at best.

I wonder though, how many of were spared the burdens of parenthood this time around? I'm just a little curious, is all.

I suppose I should be grateful I didn't have to be turned into a cat this year to get out of it, if nothing else.

I have no one back home, save my father. Being here is different altogether.

I'd imagine so. Things here are almost always an adjustment for people.

My world is much different. Power is the main objective, and killing those who stand in your way. It's still a game here, just a different type.

I wasn't given one either. I wonder what the castle's criteria is exactly.

Assuming it has any. Even some of the pairings seem random. Sure, some are actual couples, but not all.

Most of life is a game, but few are smart enough to realize that.

It is blatantly obvious back home when all are vying for the crown. If you take those principles and put them up against people, you can see resemblances. Everyone wants something.

It also makes me wonder why children. It seems an odd variable to consider.

Which would lead one to believe that where they're from is somewhere outside the power of the castle, as the residents here don't age.

It's a safe assumption. I wonder where they're kept the rest of the year, while they're growing up.
