[Spike isn't surprised to wake up on a couch in the lobby, even if he doesn't particularly remember falling asleep there. It's near the bar he'd spent his evening at (away from the babies!), and when you're recovering from a bullet wound in your leg, a nearby couch seems a lot more appealing than the hike to his room.
What's more surprising, is rolling over and sliding right off said couch onto a floor that is suddenly a lot further away than he remembers.]
Ow! ... Oh, what the hell? [And his voice is different. Also... arms are... scaly. What -- is that journal always doing open on the floor?
Every damn time.]

action
[ Yes, there is a purple unicorn. Yes, she talks. And yes, she's addressing Spike. ]
All right Spike, since I finally found you, I think it's about time we played a bit of catch up. You spent all last week avoiding us, and not to mention how busy I was, so naturally there was no research of any kind being done!
[ She pauses a moment - just a moment, as if giving Spike time to reply... but then she continues. He has no time to speak up. ]
All right, so I was thinking that we could take a second look at multidimensional theories, especially regarding alternative histories. [ This may or may not have to do with how the children disappeared. ] I already went and selected a hoofful of books, so we can get started right away.
No, don't get up, I've got this handled.
[ Still not giving him time to interject, Twilight's horn glows for a moment, and then there is suddenly a veritable mountain of books cascading down onto the small purple dragon.
...Whoops. ]
Oh. Uhhh, that wasn't supposed to happen. Sorry, Spike.

And wow, this one talks a lot. Spike tries to interject a few times, but the next thing he knows it's raining books on him and his patience... finally... runs... dry.
He very slowly crawls out of the pile, practically shaking in anger by the time he gets on top of them. (Still not quite at eye level with Twilight. He really hates being this short.)]
Don't you people ever leave him alone?

Still, that looked like it hurt for a cute, little dragon. ]
Are you alright there?

Then he looks back down at himself, still trying to contemplate what kind of drugs would give him this kind of trip. (Which is the explanation he'd prefer, really.)]
