[bearcub]

[There's a young man standing in the lobby, looking rather confused. He appears to be wearing deerskin clothing and a knitted poncho, and there are a couple of pouches and a large knife attached to his belt.

The teen's hair is a mess, gray in color and rough, like it has never seen a comb. Little blue beads are visible here and there in the dreads-like strands, and he has a black cloth sash tied around his head, covering one eye.

His other eye is also gray, and seems to be slightly unfocused as he's looking around the room. He appears lost and confused, his journal forgotten on a nearby table.]

Huh?

[She noticed him move and she stops, turning around. She catches sight of the flower in his hand and the ones still on the ground.]

Oh! Oops, I guess I dropped some. Sorry, hehehe.

[bearcub]

[Senri gives a small smile, picking up the other little flowers with great care. Once he had them all, he walks closer to the girl and holds them out to her.]

[frogs]

[Jade smiles back and shuffles over to him. She adjusts the way she's holding the flowers and frees a hand to take the stray ones. Carefully she tucks them back into the pile.]

Thanks! I wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't picked them up.

[bearcub]

[He nods a little at that. It was a nice bouquet of flowers, though he preferred them when they were still growing on the ground.]

[frogs]

[Jade is trying to make her room nice and pretty though!]

Do you like flowers, too? Also you seems kind of lost... Are you new around here?

[bearcub]

[Senri nods again, but it seems to be a nod for both questions. He's still smiling a little, the flowers brightening up his confused day.]

[frogs]

Oh! Well, welcome to the castle! [She'll take the nod as a yes to both anyway.] My name is Jade! And here, you can have some of the flowers, if you want.

I can also answer any questions about this place if you have them.

[bearcub]

[He shakes his head at her offers about flowers. They suited her, after all.]

...Senri.

[The teen says, giving her his name as an acknowledgment of hers.]

[frogs]

[She smiles and seems to understand, shifting them in her arms.]

Nice to meet you, Senri! You can use that journal there to contact me or anyone else here if you want to talk or ask questions.

[He doesn't seem much of a talker, she notes, so maybe he'd rather write.]

[bearcub]

[The journal... the book that wasn't his book. Senri couldn't read, so it felt pretty useless to him. He had yet to find out that it would read everything to him.]

...okay.

[frogs]

[a pause] Oh yeah! The journal also picks up audio. So you can talk to it and it will record you voice! Sort of. And read to back to you. It's kind of a magic journal.

Let me think, what else...

Oh. When you came here the castle took something from you. It could be anything from an item to a memory to a special ability. It's sort of hard to figure it out unless it's obvious.

[bearcub]

[He is just... staring, so confused now.]

...um.

[frogs]

[oh

she laughs sheepishly]

Um... sorry, am I going too fast?

[bearcub]

[He nods slightly, a little bit awkward. Too much to take in, and he only understood half of it.]

[frogs]

[She points to the journal.]

Open it and try speaking to it. You can see it will transcribe what you say.

[bearcub]

[...but that requires speaking, and he's not too fond of that. But he opens the journal like a good boy.]

Hello.

[frogs]

[And, like she said, the journal transcribes it!]

See? Pretty neat, huh?

[bearcub]

[He can't read it, but can clearly see the words appearing and it is amazing. Blinking, he touches the 'hello', as if expecting it to disappear again.]

[frogs]

See? Like magic! [She hoped it wasn't so hard for him to grasp now that he had seen it.]

[bearcub]

[He nods at that and smiles a little. It explained some of the things.]
