It seems strange, thinking I've been here for a year now. I'll give this place credit where it's due though, things are never boring here. [In some ways she wishes it had been. Between Wesley choosing the Texas twig and everything that's happened with Damon, she can't say it's really been a great year for her. Not that she'd ever admit as much out loud.]

Once again I can't help but this it's rather convenient that time doesn't pass at home while we're stuck here. If I had really been gone for a year, the Senior Partners would be ready to take my head. [It sounds like she's joking here. She's not.] They've never been fans of unexpected vacations.

[She pauses and debates saying anything else, and then decides against it. Instead she closes up the book and heads to the Lux for a drink.]

It wasn't for me. I always content to leave it to professionals, back home.

You're lucky. Most people just have to make due with what they find in the freezer section.

Mostly a lot of larger corporations, things like that. Though I know our entertainment division represented quite a few celebrities as well.

Mostly contract negotiation, then, I take it?

Mostly, yes.

That's always interesting work. Seeing where people are willing to give.

It's certainly never boring, to say the very least.

I think that's the key to figuring out any line of work -- find a way to keep it from getting boring.

I've always wondered how people in cubicles do it. Some professional settings are so monotonous.

I wouldn't be able to do it. I never understood how some people could be satisfied with work like that.

Neither could I. I need an element of risk.

Though my element of risk was stealing art.

I suppose that's more risk then most people take. [Lilah's work involved a lot more, but she's not just going to go sharing with everyone she meets what kind of things Wolfram and Hart did.]

It was a thrill. You could even say it was an addiction.

I've heard that before, that the rush of Adrenalin from such things can be hard to quit.

It can be. And it doesn't help that my job doesn't exactly allow me to quit cold turkey.
