[His boredom had reached new heights, as was attested to the fact that Peter had finally decided to take a walk outside of the castle, and eventually he stumbled upon the town that was nestled in the castle's looming shadow. However, Pete found he kind of enjoyed it here, it was a welcome break from all the inherent strangeness the castle provided, and even if he didn't have quite as many mysteries to solve, it was a chance for him to really kick back and relax without having to worry about crazy corridors or mutant space lobsters.

After a while of these relaxing trips, Peter finally had an idea...perhaps a horrible one, but it was an idea, and before even he knew what was happening, he was flipping a "We're Open" sign on the front of his brand new office. Nothing so big and grandiose as the castle...but it was certainly better than his accommodations at the academy. Either which way one looked at it, Venkman's Psychological Services was now ready and open for business, and as Peter himself sat behind his newly polished desk, he pressed his fingers together and let a wry smile pass over his face]

Well...at least this won't be boring.

[ There's a glowing field of magic around Venkman's office doors as it opens, showing a... three-foot tall purple unicorn, currently engaged in talking to somepony else just behind her. ]

-told you there had to be an office around the city somewhere!

Come on, Princess, you'll feel better once you get it off your chest. It's the same for me.

[ She steps into the office fully, looking over at Venkman. Hiya, human guy! ] Good afternoon. My name's Twilight Sparkle. We wanted to make use of your services, if you have the time? [ ...Well, it does say open, right? ]

[and Luna responds with a roll of her eyes and a sigh. Looks like somepony was more or less forcibly dragged out here.

...Oh.] Greetings, Peter Venkman. I was not aware that thou canst also operate in this capacity.

[that is, doing something other than frying space lobsters.]

[Well...not the kind of customers he was expecting...but then again what had he really been expecting in the first place. He offered a soft smile and waved his hand towards the long chair, which luckily was long enough for both ponies to comfortably sit on]

If the sign says Open, I have all the time in the world Twilight. Come on in, make yourselves at home.

[He chuckled at what Luna had said, he would have doubted his credentials too after the Lobster incident, but he was happy to help out someone who was a friend of Ray]

Well, I can't be roasting lobster 24/7, can I? I have other talents, so I thought I'd put 'em to use. Now, ladies, what can I do for the both of you this fine day?

[Peeta's been reading up on how to deal with past trauma. So when he sees the sign and recognizes the word 'psychological', he meanders inside.]

Uh... hello, sir. I'm Peeta Mellark. I was just wondering... what do you mean by psychological services?

Weeeeeell, we kind of... had some stuff to get off our chests. And a professional and courteous ear, and some good advice, would be appreciated.

Right, Luna? [ Come on Princess, talking about it is half of the healing process. Come out and admit what ails you. ]

[she sounds thoroughly skeptical] I suppose.

[........is it too late to just teleport away?]

[Venkman nodded lightly and drummed his fingers on his desk a few times, understanding full well that coming to see a psychologist never was the easiest thing in any world]

Well, I've got an ear open for the both of you and I'll do my best on the advice end. Would...either of you like something to drink? Water? Lemonade?

[Peter stood up and walked over to the two pitchers of liquid he had set up. It was a particularly warm day and it always helped to calm people down by making the environment more relaxed]

[ Twilight is talking to Luna before Venkman speaks, using her incredible knowledge of psychology to act knowledgeable. AKA she read a book about it and has a cut-out certificate from the back of said book. ] You know, opening up about your problem is the first step to-

[ Oh, wait, the guy's speaking. She stops herself short. ] Oh, yes, thank you. Lemonade sounds refreshing.

[Peter had been leaning back in his chair around the time this young man had walked in, not that he minded people seeing him in a relaxed state. He managed to right himself and gave his /mahogany/ desk a few pats before directing his winning smile towards Peeta]

Well, I myself am a Psychologist, so if there's anything you'd like to sit down and get off your chest, I can always offer you an open ear. You'd be surprised how much just getting stuff into the open helps Mr. Mellark. Is there anything I can help you with in that regard?

[there's just an irritated eartwitch. This is valuable brooding time, Twilight Sparkle.]

I thank thee for thy consideration, but I am quite comfortable.

[You can lead a horse to water but...]

[Venkman nodded, pouring a nice glass of Lemonade before starting to walk towards the two...only to stop and snap his fingers before heading back to the table. A straw might be nice all things considered, and once one was floating around in the glass, he hopped his way over, placing it on a end table near Twilight before casting his gaze between the two]

Well...opening up is good, yes, but it's not something that should be forced. Psychology is a slow process, perhaps there are other things you'd like to discuss in order to ease yourself into bigger issues?

[~~THAT. IS. MAHOGANY.~~ Peeta walks further into the office, glancing around before looking back at the man.]

I've got a lot of problems, Mr. ...Venkman?

Please, call me Pete, I like things to be relaxed around here.

[He walked around his desk and extended his hand for Peeta to shake]

Well, I just opened Peeta, so I have a lot of time to listen. Would you like anything to drink or eat though? It's a real scorcher out today, not quite as bad as it is in New York, but jeez, country air dries out like wet clothes in the desert.

Okay. Well. [ Twilight's just.... pondering for a moment. Because hay she wasn't expecting this part. ] Luna, do we have any other problems, troubles, or conundrums, major or minor, besides the most obvious one?

Okay. Just a glass of water, please, if it's not too much trouble.

[what is this, marriage counseling?]

Nay, 'lest thou hast some problem with me that I am unaware of.

Sure, no problem at all, take a seat if you want.

[Venkman gave Peeta a small pat on the shoulder before walking over to the table where he kept two large pitchers. He grabbed one and poured the crystal clear liquid into it before heading back over and handing it to the young man]

There you are. Now, where...

[Peter said as he clapped his hands together and leaned against the nearest convenient wall]

Would you like to start on all this?

Well, how about we start with these "Losses" people seem to be suffering from? Seems like they've been causing headaches all over here...sooooo, that might be a good place to start, yeah?

Thanks. [He takes a seat nearby, taking a drink of the water.]

Umm... I don't know. I'm in love with a girl and I'm not sure if she loves me back or not. [That seemed like the easiest problem to start with. Maybe.]

[Ray did a double-take as he strolled past the door on his way to get an ice cream cone. well. this was a new thing. he opened the door and poked his head in, eyebrows raised]

Almost missed it without the graffiti on the frosted glass, Pete.

[Peter had been adjusting one of his potted plants out of boredom when Ray had walked in, and turned around with a chuckle, having expected his friend to show up sooner or later]

I know, right? I think that really added some flare to the old office~

[Ahhhh, Venkman knew all about that one. He nodded his head slightly and tapped his index fingers together, tilting his head a bit so he could see Peeta better from where he was]

I see, seems that problem is practically universal. Well...have you tried having a chat with her about it? Sometimes the best thing you can do is just roll the dice and see where the numbers land.

Ah... well, I've already told her I love her. Multiple times. And I didn't really tell her until we were stuck in a fight to the death.

[Glancing at Pete to make sure he's not running away.]

[It's not long before a certain eternally lost angel wanders into the office. He's somewhat surprised to see a familiar face.]

...You're the man from the library.

[ Oh dear Celestia, losses. Yes, they've been a headache. A headache and a heartache, if you count Shining Armor's.

Twilight immediately and very obviously tenses. ]

Oh. Yes. Losses. That is a good place to start...
