 [It is late in the evening, and Edgeworth is returning to his room from spending countless hours at the Clinic. Upon opening his room door, something is a little...off, to say the least. He writes to the fellow residents of the castle:]








...I am still but a newcomer here, and I've yet to comprehend much the inscrutable workings of this place, but is finding a complete stranger in your bed considered a normal occurrence?

So. What I am gathering is that there exists a possibility that once we are taken from our places and return, it is as though no time has elapsed?

That would be correct, from what I have found out.

That's a comforting thought, at least. How did you come across these old journals?

Through one of these so called friends. I've yet to look over it in any real length, however.

but your experience could hold viable clues about this place operates...

...Perhaps even how to escape.

Perhaps, though I sincerely doubt it will include how to escape. I am also not so quick to trust this place in any length, and that includes these journals.

If we can discover the slightest clues and unearth the dimmest of paradoxes, I am certain that at least the slightest hints can arise from the effort...The truth always makes itself known somehow, no matter how long it takes.

Then perhaps you would make better use of the older journal than I would. Needless to say, I would advise you to seek out those here longest before turning to the older tomes. I know of at least one, but there are others to that have been here upwards of five long years.

That is what was claimed, yes.

I'm sure. Hard to imagine a mystery going unsolved for half a decade.

Is that to imply that this place has only existed for that amount of time?

[azuredemonic]

No. Rather, I simply mean that those who have been here the longest haven't been able to discover this place in that time. Or organize a mutual effort to maintain an ongoing investigation that bore results.

That would have been highly unlikely, anyway. Is there any record of when this place came into existence?

None that I am aware of, though I've yet to sift through everything the library has to offer.

I'd venture a guess that you're relatively content here.

Books are knowledge, knowledge is power, and a great deal of these I have never before encountered. I'd say it goes a long way towards my becoming content.

Indeed. Ones from different worlds that could never be found in my own.

Ah. I suppose I see what you mean. I greatly misunderstood. But none of them spoke of the history of the castle?

None so far, though I can hardly claim to have gone through them all.
