Question!


Would anybody out there be interested in a sort of "artist's circle?" Or, is there anything like that going on in the castle already that I just don't know about? I've been painting more, lately since there aren't exactly a ton of murders happening all over the place here and I was thinking all the artists of the castle--regardless of skill level--should get together and be artsy sometimes.

Any thoughts?

That's a neat idea! I know a bunch of artists here. [Which is weird after living in District 12 so long. He doesn't expect people to know how. Painting was kind of a frivolous thing when it was difficult to get enough to eat.]

Yeah? You think? I really don't know how many artsy people we have here, but I've met a handful. Are you into art?

[He draws in a slow, shaky breath, and his voice is wavering when he speaks.]

I think... I have a very serious problem.

[Even as he says it, he's regretting making this filter. Why did he have to get brave about discussing this?]

I'm beginning to think that maybe I have some kind of interesting feelings for someone.

...Interesting as in romantic?

"Interesting" as in "I'm not really sure but they aren't normal."

[He's not going to say that--"romantic" is a big tough word and he feels ridiculous even having this preteen girl kind of conversation, even though he needs to be confiding in someone.]

May I ask who this someone is?

[There's a part of Geoff that wants to keep bugging him about it until he tells him, but he tries to control himself.]

...All right. What's troubling you about this, then?

Well it's not okay! I can't go around getting all caught up in silly stuff like this. And especially not with this person, I mean--well you have to help me stop it.

...I'm just not understanding why this is so bad. I can't, in good conscience, tell you to stop something that I have no information on. Perhaps I would be telling you to stop something wonderful. I don't want that burden.

[Geoff is too nosy for his own good.]

I paint! I don't pretend to be any good at it, but I was an art major back in school, before I switched over to law.

[takethat]

Well, I was thinking any kind of art would be welcome.

[A groan]

You don't understand, Geoff... there is no possible way this could be any worse than it is.

[He is so frustrated with his inability to even talk about this.]
