Chapter Eleven- Behind the Mystery

[The library’s relatively quiet today. That is, until there’s a bang as a book falls to the floor. Chaucer’s obviously not making a scene on purpose for once. In fact, he really looks like he doesn’t want anyone to see him. Although, it’s hard not to notice a man carrying an armful of books.

To anyone who steals a book, peeks over his shoulder, or maybe even picks up the dropped book for him, they’ll notice most of the books are on World War II, the United States of America, and weaponry.

Because instead of giving a kiss goodbye, Geoff’s boyfriend assigned homework.

He sits down at a table and reads for a few minutes before remembering he had some hot journal action to do.

Hello, my friend. Could I have a word?

[And then, to the entire castle:] Has anyone ever attempted to look themselves up in the library? I'd rather not find out when I die or anything like that.

[ooc: Open over the journals or in person! Takes place some time in the afternoon of the fourth.Tagging may be sporadic, as I am still on hiatus?? I don't know. Don't question my decisions.]

Yes, I'm in the big book called The Bible. Maybe you've heard about it.

[Pause] Then I'd stay away from most books that discuss classic literature.

[There's a rather loopy type of handwriting appearing in your journal, Chaucer.]

Geoffrey Chaucer, known as the Father of English Literature, is best considered to be the greatest poet of the Middle Ages.

...Seriously? The Father of English Literature? You couldn't write to save your life. [...Such a loving boyfriend you have, Geoff.]

[personal profile] blue_sniper 2012-06-05 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
...And you're supposed to be the greatest poet of the Middle Ages, and all you can call me is stupid? I expected better.

[personal profile] blue_sniper 2012-06-05 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
Well, at least you can come up with something when you think hard enough about it. [He catches that, Geoff. And he's not sure what it makes him feel. Well...time to find out!]

And why did you stop calling me an 'idiot'?

You can have several.

[Bucky smiles. And now, time to annoy him some more.]

Well, obviously you think I'm smart, even if you hate my honest opinion. [He underlines honest.]

[personal profile] blue_sniper 2012-06-05 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
Well, for one, you continue to talk to me. [And with that, he supplies another sentence about Geoff from the book he's got.]

He is best known today for The Canterbury Tales, while his other works include The Book of the Duchess, the House of Fame, the Legend of Good Women and Troilus and Criseyde.

...Sounds boring to me.

I don't think I'm in the library! I'm not sure I'd be that important. I'm sure the people I work with probably are.

[And you know, if she is, she'd rather not know.]

Well, then you'd better get on that. The history book on English Literature has spoken.

The Duchess of Milan .. she should be there, since she's important. And His Holiness, too..

[Lots of thinking going on here!]

And perhaps the Duke of Florence..

Doing what? [If writing could look innocent, this writing does.]

I have, actually. There's a book I haven't written yet in there.

[personal profile] blue_sniper 2012-06-05 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
No, that would take all the fun out of it. [It really would.]

So why are you asking about looking yourself up in the library?

[personal profile] blue_sniper 2012-06-05 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
And what have you found out about him? Any deep, dark secrets? [He knows full well it's him.]
