[And in the middle of the night, there's a loud gasping breath of air as a body moves from a bed.]

Nick-- [A breath. Wasn't she just sitting in a chair? With a gun? Just how long was she out?

A pause. A long pause.

And soon there would be the cocking of a gun, footsteps moving across her floor, and a door opening. Minutes would pass before Kalinda finds herself sitting on her bed, glaring down at the open journal at her side.

In an annoyed, tired, and subtly frustrated tone masked in neutrality, she'll continue the accidental dictation with full intention.]

And here I thought I was home.

[There's a "not amused" facial expression coupled with a forced chuckle. But she's quick to curling her lips again, shaking her head in the slightest.]

[Oh, she feels a little bad for teasing now.

[She'll shrug, knowing it was true, but-- wow, losing her elusiveness was annoying.]

True. [She should probably order another drink.] Do you know what yours is?

[Jenny does, in fact, know what her loss is, but so far she's been very successful in feigning ignorance about it. It's a memory that shouldn't bother her that she's lost, but it bothers her a lot. And so, she just pretends it doesn't bother her so much that she doesn't even notice.]

Haven't figured it out yet, no.

[JENNY THAT IS SO UNFAIR. Kalinda has to admit her loss and you don't? Wow. Way to be a bro. Whatever, another beer is coming her way and she is drinking it.]

Here's hoping it's not too annoying.

[BUT THE NATURE of Kalinda's loss means that it would have come up sooner or later anyway!!! Your complaints are moot.

Let's say Jenny has another beer too, look how that works. Roleplaying!! She lifts the bottle in a sort of salute before drinking as well.]

[Fine, be that way! All logical. And yes, sure are drinks. They are most certainly doing their job, in any case.]

Did you honestly have no better plans tonight?

[She sighs dramatically, twirling her finger in the air.]

Afraid not. There's very little going on in terms of the exciting world of do-gooding in this place.

So, you've been filling your time with...?

[She gestures at the bar......]

And taking people to bed. But mostly this. You'd think with a magical castle filled with predominately young, attractive people, more of them would be indiscriminately fucking each other. Not so.

[There's a distinct chuckle at that. If anything, Jenny's company as well as the literal and figurative spirits was certainly something to make for a much lighter mood.]

Nice to know I've my work cut out for me, then. [Grin.]
