LUNAR FESTIVAL | DAY ONE | ELDERS & FEAST

[Another day in Paradisa. One decorated in lights of all sorts-- lights and lanterns gracing each building in a warming array of colors and brightness. It seems to be something rather festive, a delightful change in the scenery of the castle.

In the courtyard, two bright lights can be seen stretching high into the sky, shining even in spite of the broad daylight.

What could be under these lights, one may wonder, as they catch the eye of any onlooker... in which there seems to be two figures beneath them.

Now, do you find interest in them, the increased number of fireworks within one's reach, or the feast that seesm to begin to pique within the lavishly decorated dining room?

And what is with these red envelopes?]

But you're not even big... [ You're not even close to chubby, Ino. ]

[ino]

Yeah, and I wanna keep it that way! [LMFAO she has .... weight issues okay sob. ;;] But it's so hard to pick ...

[amiable]

[ Hm, she goes back to looking at the food. ]

Maybe whichever one everyone else seems to be having? [ Because the popular choice will be one of the tastier choices, right? ]

[ino]

Hm, that's a good idea ... [she'll peer at which plates seem emptier, or actively have people picking off of them ... and grab a few things :3 before glancing over to see if uru got anything yet]

[amiable]

[ She's doing the same thing except she'll gladly take a bit more than Ino has. She doesn't want to miss out on good food. ]

Paradisa's been doing so many nice things these past couple of months. I wonder why it's so happy...

[ino]

I don't really get it either ... [a sigh, before she takes a little bite out of a dumpling, chews, and swallows] It's kind of suspicious, if you ask me.

[amiable]

[ freezes. ]

Why suspicious?

[ino]

Well, it's not like anything really happened to cheer it up, right? [frowns] I don't know. It just makes me a little uneasy.

[amiable]

[ She picks up a dumpling and stares at it, contemplating Ino's question. ]

Maybe it felt people were sad, and it wanted to do something. [ After all, there are times the castle kicks everyone while they're down. ]

[ino]

You think? [sob, ino is cynical, and feels like this is probably the calm before the storm]

[amiable]

The castle can do a lot of nice things! But the bad things stick out more, huh?

[ino]

... Yeah, I guess they do. [a bit of a frown ... before she glances over at Uru with a small smile] That reminds me ... did you get anything nice from the castle for Christmas?

[amiable]

[ She pauses, her expression shifting into a more thoughtful one. She has a smile on her face, but it's clear there's something weighing on her mind. ]

A calligraphy set. [ She rubs the back of her neck. ] I think it belonged to my dad.

[ino]

Your dad [surprised ... and then she realizes what she said] You think it did?

[amiable]

I know my dad was a teacher! It must be his.

[ino]

Oh, I see ... that seems really neat! Do you think you'll use it?

[amiable]

I haven't thought about that yet! Do you think someone here knows calligraphy?

[ino]

I'm not sure ... but there has to be someone, doesn't there? It's not like it's that uncommon ...

[amiable]

I'll ask around the journals. [ But there are a lot of other Japanese people. Maybe Rin would know? ] It'd be a nice thing to learn while I'm here.

[ino]

Yeah, it could be handy sometime. Plus, you could make some nice stuff to frame for your wall if you wanted~

[amiable]

[ Oh, she has an idea. ]

And for my friends, too! [ People like that, right? ]

[ino]

Mm, it'd be a good gift! Especially since a lot of people around here have probably never seen their name in another language before.
